 An email we just received:

Hello! I have been asked by the television show Pawn
Stars to sell my Steve McQueen Bullit posters and lobby cards to
Rick on an episode. Rick is a HUGE Steve McQueen fan and even had a 68
mustang made to exactly match the movie car. The kicker is they don't
really want to negotiate like on tv. They want me to tell them how much
I'd sell them for before I get there and act like it is a
 negotiation.
Would you be willing to give me a estimated value you think they are
 worth?
The posters are folded but I'd say excellent shape using your
standards listed on your website. The lobby cards are also in excellent
 shape or better.
I have two of the posters and 3 lobby cards.
 I have attached pictures.
 I would really appreciate it.

He attached photos of a beat up Bullitt insert and 3 misc. 8x10
 stills.

[MOPO] The Most Dangerous Game (1932) Does anyone know....

2012-08-25 Thread Simon Oram
Hi Mopo

How many The Most Dangerous Game 1 sheets have come up for auction or for sale?

It does seem to be very rare, probably something to do with it’s production,
that of being a film that as made to keep the stars from King Kong in one place
while the lengthy animation sequence took place, so advertisement would have
been very minimal.

Any info highly appreciated.

Thank you Simon

2012-08-25 Thread Simon Oram

Thanks,

there do seem to be two images knocking about on the net, Banks seems to be
blonde in one and red headed in the other (fading taken place on the
blondish one? red is very susceptible to fading). Can't look at my Borst
book to see which one he has, it's in storage. Great poster, always thought
it would look great framed next to 'Island of the Lost Souls' 1 sheet 1932,
a vintage year that one.

[MOPO] Re - most dangerous game ..ahhh... 1932

2012-08-25 Thread Tait Maxfeldt
Simon ..there are at least 2..but I#39;m betting there is another one floating
around..
Yes... Island of lost souls AND most dangerous game would look good together
...but how bout the Mummy squeezed in between..1932 had some clout...you could
ostensibly pair up I was a fugitive from a chain gang and Scarface too (both
1932) and Tarzan the apeman could give Most dangerous game a nice poster
playmate as well..

Personally I think the half sheet to Most dangerous game that heritage sold was
pretty awesome too..

And now for the comedy... You get the Marx bros. In Horse Feathers, W.C. Fields
in Million dollar legs, Laurel and hardy in 2 of their best shorts..Helpmates
the Music Box..not to mention Trouble in Paradise and Joe e brown#39;s very
best You Said a Mouthful..oh and lombard and gable#39;s only film No Man of
her own..

Tait what a great year! I quite like the idea of them sitting on the wall proud
with Freaks, Murders in the Rue Morgue and The Old Dark House but I like the
two of them just together both great lunatics on jungle islands.

I've always wondered about the Island of the Lost Souls 1 sheet it seems fairly
light hearted for it's subject matter and was curiois if there was a
alternative 1 sheet that was much darker and moody with it's art, however there
is that wonderful lobby card with Laughton and Hans Steinke as Ouran.

Re: [MOPO] The Most Dangerous Game (1932) Does anyone know....

2012-08-25 Thread Richard C Evans
The image in the Graven Images has Banks with a red hue, and more red in the
image generally.

Get a wall all to itself here, maybe sharing with one of the heads if it got
thrown in as a sweetener.

 Thanks,

there do seem to be two images knocking about on the net, Banks seems to be
blonde in one and red headed in the other (fading taken place on the blondish
one? red is very susceptible to fading). Can't look at my Borst book to see
which one he has, it's in storage. Great poster, always thought it would look
great framed next to 'Island of the Lost Souls' 1 sheet 1932, a vintage year
 that one.

One has never come up for auction to my knowledge...but one (one of two
known? - the other belonging to Ron Borst) sold privately maybe 10 years ago
after it was on Ebay. It came from the collection of a long-time collector
 in Northern California.

 Hi Mopo

How many The Most Dangerous Game 1 sheets have
 come up for auction
 or for sale?

It does seem to be very rare, probably
 something to do with
it’s production, that of being a film that as made to keep
 the stars from King
Kong in one place while the lengthy animation sequence took
 place, so
advertisement would have been very minimal.

 Any info highly appreciated.

 Thank you Simon
