Is this the Spanish guy you're talking about, Alan? I used to know both his
name and ebay handle but it's escaped me at the moment. The year I met you and
your son at Cinevent (2006?), my host, Alan Bayersdorfer, bought a gorgeous
Dutch Blonde Venus off of him. maybe some other Mopolista will know the name
before I can recall it.

Does anyone know what the story is with the ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST One
Sheets??

I've seen at least 3 slight variations to the One Sheet.

1) M rating lower left corner within artwork. National Screen Service info on
right side of bottom border, then 69/241

2) No M rating lower left corner within artwork. National Screen Service info
on right side of bottom border, then 69/241

3) No M rating lower left corner within artwork. No National Screen Service
info and No 69/241. Instead, the title is on the right side of the bottom
border.

In 2009 Heritage sold #3 as a regular One Sheet.

In 2008 Heritage sold #3 as an International One Sheet.

In 2007 Heritage sold #3 as an R-80 One Sheet.

Does anyone know what the real deal is with these One Sheets??

Thanks folks!

Not at all. I buy from Heritage all the time.

I was just citing examples of different versions of the poster they had sold
and was wondering why there are at least 3 different versions and for what
reason as they all have the same artwork.

Re: [MOPO] Does anyone know the story with the ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST One Sheets?? [EXTERNAL]

2018-05-18 Thread Smith, Grey - 1367
Thanks, Todd, a good question.
I will explain our reasoning and say that by calling the large title in lower
right version 1969 was obviously a mistake from some time ago.

1) M rating lower left corner within artwork. National Screen Service
info on right side of bottom border, then 69/241

This would be the domestic release for the poster and with the rating assuredly
used in the states.

2) No M rating lower left corner within artwork. National Screen Service
info on right side of bottom border, then 69/241

This is believed to be the International one sheet as no ratings were used on
those posters generally. Some might say, well with NSS number it wouldn't be
International but I suggest that it is International as during that time, most
domestic release posters did have a rating.

3) No M rating lower left corner within artwork. No National Screen
Service info and No 69/241. Instead, the title is on the right side of the
bottom border.

This is a late 1970s, early 1980s reissue most likely and sold previously I
believe as 1969. IMDB says there was a showing in 1980, but as you know it
wasn't until the early 1970s that NSS started labeling the posters with the
larger title in the lower right leading us to deduce this is a reissue just as
we know the James Bonds titles with similar markings are reissue. More recently
we have called this a reissue.

I was just citing examples of different versions of the poster they had sold

In 2009 Heritage sold #3 as a regular One Sheet.

2018-05-18 Thread Jay Nemeth-Johannes
Well, the rating changed from M to GP for domestic releases during the late
1969 to early 1970 period.  I would think there is a chance #2 may have been a
later printing of a first release, where the rating box was removed because of
the confusion.  Just speculating.

Thanks, Todd, a good question.

I will explain our reasoning and say that by calling the large title in lower
right version 1969 was obviously a mistake from some time ago.
M rating lower left corner within artwork. National Screen Service info on
right side of bottom border, then 69/241
This would be the domestic release for the poster and with the rating assuredly
used in the states.

No M rating lower left corner within artwork. National Screen Service info on
right side of bottom border, then 69/241
