Michael,

Yeh! Your right on...These definitely are not art deco; they came
from a twin cinema back in the days of change over (early 70's) from the
old great theatre houses to the twin and then of course, what we have
today. However, they are a nice looking simple frame for anyone looking for
something different; changing posters now and then...Vaughn

Re: [MOPO] 14 x 36 Frames and More

2008-06-25 Thread Susan Heim
Hi Michael and all,

I wanted to remind you all that I build the custom frames for inserts, half
sheets, window cards, and many non standard size frames. Since I hand cut each
frame, I can pretty much make any size and ship any size up to 31x46. I build
them all with genuine 1/8 UV filtered plexiglass and, depending on their
value, professional quality backing. I even have different frame styles
available. All of it is offered at wholesale cost to fellow collectors. We even
offer free shipping specials on multipacks.

So, for instance, a 14x36 with genuine UV filtered plexiglass and
professional quality foamcore backing is $38.98. You can't beat that!! Even the
full museum archival inserts are only $59. Anyone who would like to have a link
on my website, please contact me and I will review your information. Many
members of our group order their framing from me and many dealers on the group
offer my frames to their customers and make some profit in the process. They
can all attest to the high quality of the frames.

Now, they are simple frames, but they are high quality and allow you to
get your items on the wall without spending a fortune. Also, you know they are
made by me, a fellow collector who uses them for their own collection, so you
know they are going to preserve your items.

I only ship within the lower 48 states of the U.S. and the shipping costs
are very low and, again, most multipacks have free shipping. So, just a
reminder since you were talking about the high cost of framing. It doesn't have
to be.

2008-06-25 Thread Susan Heim
Hi Tom,
I know what you mean. I just literally had an email from someone in the U.K.
about 5 minutes ago. The problem is that the frames don't weigh much, but they
are large and the boxes have to ship air and they are considered oversize and
the cost is astronomical. Believe me, I have tried everything I can think of.
There are other issues also. Remember, though, that $30 frame costs over $150
here in the states. It is just that I offer them to fellow collectors for
wholesale cost and I am the largest purchaser of the UV filtered plexiglass on
the west coast, so the plexiglass, which is the most expensive component of the
frame, is very low cost because of the quantity I buy. So, in all fairness to
retail frame shops, they do have to make a profit. So..sorry guys.
This one we can blame on the exorbitant prices of the shipping companies.

Certainly a great price, but I'm not sure about overseas shipping.

Mopoers,

If you're going to buy frames from Sue, I highly recommend the Deluxe
frames. They're definitely worth the extra money. If you're on a
tight budget, just cancel your cable TV for a few months. Or cancel
your subscriptions to Psychology Today and Hot Rod. You can also eat
off-brand macaroni and cheese for all your meals. I do think the
wider frame moldings looks much nicer.

On the subject of tickets stubs, I am now considering serious offers
of at least $250 for my Britney Spears Tacoma Dome ticket stub,
assuming I can find it.

allow you to get your items on the wall without spending a fortune.
Also, you know they are made by me, a fellow collector who uses
them for their own collection, so you know they are going to
preserve your items.

I only ship within the lower 48 states of the U.S. and the
shipping costs are very low and, again, most multipacks have free
shipping. So, just a reminder since you were talking about the
high cost of framing. It doesn’t have to be.
