Re: Patch Maker version 2.0beta1 released

2002-02-20 Thread Gervase Markham

I've tried it with a 2002-02-19-03 Win32 build which should have that
checkin - still no luck. Tried /, \ and \\ as path delimiters (sp?).

Are you on Windows?

I haven't had a chance to test build mode fully yet; if you can work out
what's wrong (check the find_matching_files() functions) let me know.
I'll try and do some testing later this week.

This is why it's beta. :-) However, I realise getting it fixed is a
priority, since I broke the old one.

Passwords

2002-02-20 Thread Howard M. Stark

Help. I managed to arrange (inadvertantly) it so that Mozilla 9.8 no
longer wants to use the original somenumber.s file for remembering
passwords (also form data but this is easier to redo). It created a new
file. I have the old file and would like to use the data in it. How do I
go about tranferring the info? I have tried copying pasting (using
notepad) as well as remaming they did not work. Is there a simple way?

Thanks

Howie

Key files

2002-02-20 Thread David A. Cobb

I've learned the hard way lately that having a backup for key Mozilla
files, such as RULES.DAT, can save a huge amount of grief. I've also
discovered the hard way that PANACEA.DAT is pretty important -- mail
looks really crappy if it is damaged.

Someone who understands the program architecture, please advise me, what
files should I be backing up? Currently, I'm backing up just about
everything in the salt directory plus rules .newsrc files. This may
be overkill.

Thanks

http://www.mozilla.org/roadmap.htmlComments welcome.

Brendan,I'd like to see a release candidate period for 1.0 put into place. Inthe past serious bugs have slipped into milestone releases, and thoughwe'll likely be more careful this time about late check-ins, it seemssuicidal to indifferently schedule it as just another milestone.

It's not scheduled like just another milestone, of course -- the branch will
be cooking a lot longer, and nightly builds from it will each be a release
candidate to everyone helping us test them, including a lot of Netscape folks
who will be doing a beta off the 1.0 branch, I believe (the nsbeta1[-+] keywords
in bugs line up with the mozilla1.0 target milestone). A Netscape beta gets
even more talkback than a Mozilla milestone release, so we @mozilla.org are
all for it happening soon on the 1.0 branch.

But I agree with you about distinguishing release candidate nightlies: let's
pick a fortnightly release candidate build and get even broader testing and
talkback. We will have to clamp down on checkins pretty seriously after
releasing the candidate, so as to avoid taking new bugs while fixing old
ones.

I didn't put this in the roadmap but it can certainly be done. I'll promote
it with [EMAIL PROTECTED] and drivers and report back. Thanks for the feedback,

How to set password for mail accounts in Netscape 6.2.1 ?

2002-02-20 Thread Lisa

Hello.

I've just downloaded and setup the Netscape 6.2.1

I've several POP email accounts, and all the accounts - like usual -
have password during login.

Unsing Netscape 6.2.1, when I set up additional mail accounts, I do
NOT find information pertaining to PASSWORD.

I used Netscape before. The last version I used was version 3.0 Gold.
Yes, it was an OLD version, but the thing worked, and it had a very
simple structure.

But in this 6.2.1 version, I am confused by the overly layered
structure.

First of all, how to do a simple download all messages from my email
account?

Second of all, since I can't find the PASSWORD thingy, the login
sessions all failed. How to set the Password ?

Thirdly, in the old version ( 3.0 Gold ), I can ask Netscape to
download ONE account at a time, and this new version, it's kind of
complicated. The help file isn't helpful either.

Please help.

Lisa

search bugzilla for 'junkbuster'.

older versions of junkbuster were flawed and caused mozilla to behave
incorrectly through junkbuster

Printer properties don't work

2002-02-20 Thread Bill Sheppard

Hello,

I did a search on Bugzilla but couldn't find anything relevant. On 0.98 on
Win98SE, I select print, then choose Properties to change to duplex, or
whatever, on my HP 970Cxi inkjet. Nothing I choose in the properties gets
selected; that is, no matter what I do in properties, the printout is as set
by the default printer settings. Even choosing HP preview on the properties
page gets ignored.

Is this a known bug? Workarounds?

Thanks,

Bill

I'm pretty sure that the username and password are in the account
creation dialogue. look carefully at all the options/dialogues presented
when creating a new account.
