Hello,

IMHO Mozilla is not ready for a 1.0 version.
April is too early for 1.0.

There are still some major bugs that still make problems.

For example, text filling window menus.
Mozilla has problems with those windows.
(for example in those bulleting forum boards where you can post messages)
Text Scrolling doesn't work correctly in those windows.
There is also a cut&paste problem.
Text is not pasted at the correct place, it is allways pasted some lines
below or above the row (where your mouse points to).

Then it looks like, that Mozilla has some speed an scrolling problems on
a website that uses Flash and when Flash is activated in Mozilla.

The last point is, that it still has some problems with showing websites
correctly.
For example Mozilla shows this website not correctly:
http://www.interplay.com/giants/index2.html
(This bug is known for about a year, don't know the bug number at the
moment)

Best Regards,
   Oliver C.

It still needs a lot more

Not a Mozilla bug - the site uses invalid HTML code. (Tech Evangelism
bug: 79372)

The two worst bugs currently in Mozilla, IMHO, is 55583 (view-source
should show original page source) and 46845 (Form elements don't reset
upon reloading page). They both cause very annoying dataloss, and they
are both futured... :-(

After them, standards compliance bugs (layout/DOM) should be the number
one priority, IMHO.

That didn't stop them with Netscape 6.0, it ain't gonna stop them with
Netscape I mean Mozilla 1.0.

Let the fiasco begin!

I believe in order to have a good Mozilla 1.0 release performance work
should be of very low priority and more focus should be placed on bugs that
hinder proper usage of Mozilla.

'proper usage' optimally being:

1) no dataloss bugs
2) no crashes
3) UI polish
4) no unexpected behavior regarding interraction with mozilla

This, with documentation, frozen API's and the promised standards
compliance is what the ideal, possible 1.0 release. All performance bugs
should be re-evaluated and targetted to Mozilla 1.0+ to give developers
more time to fix bugs that can not be permitted in 1.0

I agree. I would add bug 59078 (bad desktop integration with w2k) and
119597 (for gif image tracking bug - I still have some gifs displayed
badly under Mozilla !!)
