Re: MQ Messages
You probably just want to suppress these and other informational messages from the console. Take a look at the System Setup Guide, chapter 2, task 21 where they talk about using the MPFLSTxx member in parmlib to do this. - Bruce Giordano "Williams, Dave (Systems Management)" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] cc: Sent by: MQSeries List Subject: MQ Messages <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Thursday October 28, 2004 11:53 AM Please respond to MQSeries List We're receiving an inordinate amount of console messages from MQ regarding a server connection we have - 09.47.52 STC04052 +CSQX500I _ CSQXRESP Channel CLIENT.TO.MQPX started 09.47.52 STC04052 +CSQX501I _ CSQXRESP Channel CLIENT.TO.MQPX is no longer active These are repeating every two or three seconds and making the operators crazy - I don't want to suppress messages - Perhaps I have something set incorrectly that's causing this condition to occur? Re: MQ Messages
These messages just mean that a client is issuing MQCONN / MQDISC calls on a very frequent basis. When you have client connections direct to your mainframe, you must be very particular in how those client applications are written. They should keep persistent connections and handle MQ connection broken errors (2009) and only reconnect when necessary. Re: MQ Messages
Title: MQ Messages My guess is that something is trying to make a client connection and is unable to authenticate, thereby the channel is closing. Re: MQ Messages
Title: MQ Messages Dave, Yes, you need to get hold of your client application programmers (by the throat!). What they've done is to write an application that does an MQCONN, and MQPUT and/or MQGET, then an MQDISC. They need to rewrite it so that they connect once when needed and disconnect only when shutting down their end. You could lengthen the disconnect interval. Re: MQ Messages
Is the disconnect interval set too low? Below is from MQ Help Panels - Use the 'Disconnect interval' field to specify the time that the channel should wait for a message to arrive on the transmission queue before it terminates. This field corresponds to the DISCINT attribute of the channel; it applies only to sender, server, cluster-receiver, and cluster-sender channels. If there is a steady flow of messages for the channel, a suitable disconnect interval will avoid the overhead of continually starting and stopping the channel. -Original Message- From: Williams, Dave (Systems Management) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, October 28, 2004 10:54 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: MQ Messages We're receiving an inordinate amount of console messages from MQ regarding a server connection we have - 09.47.52 STC04052 +CSQX500I _ CSQXRESP Channel CLIENT.TO.MQPX started 09.47.52 STC04052 +CSQX501I _ CSQXRESP Channel CLIENT.TO.MQPX is no longer active These are repeating every two or three seconds and making the operators crazy - I don't want to suppress messages - Perhaps I have something set incorrectly that's causing this condition to occur?
