You probably just want to suppress these and other informational messages
from the console. Take a look at the System Setup Guide, chapter 2, task
21 where they talk about using the MPFLSTxx member in parmlib to do this.

Re: MQ Messages

2004-10-28 Thread Dave Corbett
These messages just mean that a client is issuing MQCONN / MQDISC calls on
a very frequent basis. When you have client connections direct to your
mainframe, you must be very particular in how those client applications are
written. They should keep persistent connections and handle MQ connection
broken errors (2009) and only reconnect when necessary.

My guess is that something is trying to make a client
connection and is unable to authenticate, thereby the channel is
closing.

Dave,

Yes,
you need to get hold of your client application programmers (by the
throat!).  What they've done is to write an application that does an
MQCONN, and MQPUT and/or MQGET, then an MQDISC.  They need to rewrite it so
that they connect once when needed and disconnect only when shutting down their
end.

Re: MQ Messages

2004-10-28 Thread Mauro, Samuel
Is the disconnect interval set too low? Below is from MQ Help Panels -

Use the 'Disconnect interval' field to specify the time that the channel
should wait for a message to arrive on the transmission queue before it
terminates. This field corresponds to the DISCINT attribute of the
channel; it applies only to sender, server, cluster-receiver, and
cluster-sender channels.

If there is a steady flow of messages for the channel, a suitable
disconnect interval will avoid the overhead of continually starting and
stopping the channel.
