[mb-style] Album attributes
I just came up (actually, it's just the first time I noticed) on an album that is a compilation of live tracks: http://musicbrainz.org/showmod.html?modid=4715100 (there's a link with details in it's relationships, I think). This made it occur to me that live and compilation are not really mutually exclusive. Perhaps we should have a live compilation attribute? That will allow to mark things as a compilation without needing to put (live) on all tracks. Or is this going through an overhaul anyway? -- Bogdan Butnaru — [EMAIL PROTECTED] I think I am a fallen star, I should wish on myself. – O. ___ Musicbrainz-style mailing list Musicbrainz-style@lists.musicbrainz.org http://lists.musicbrainz.org/mailman/listinfo/musicbrainz-style
Re: [mb-style] Album attributes
Instead of adding all possible combinations seperate, I would like to have the album attributes selectable. There are Remix Compilations, Live EPs, and so on arround. Not sure - but there's already something in work - http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/ReleaseTypeRestructuringDiscussion - Schika On 5/1/06, Bogdan Butnaru [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I just came up (actually, it's just the first time I noticed) on analbum that is a compilation of live tracks:http://musicbrainz.org/showmod.html?modid=4715100 (there's a link withdetails in it's relationships, I think). This made it occur to me that live and compilation are not reallymutually exclusive. But on the artist page you don't and this is what can cause confusion. A solution would be to rephrase the artist-album phrase only, and to leave the album-artist phrase the way it is. [mb-style] Style Secretary Buffer Overflow
Hi everybody, I have finally moved to Darmstadt. There is still a lot of stuff to do, but at least I am online again. Is there anything buried in my 162 unread mails of mb-style that needs my special attention? If so, please tell me and cc the reply to me in person. If not, would the position of the style secretary have become unneccesary? I'd love that. I hope I catch up reading the list this week. And I want to ask again: Is there somebody who would want to become style secretary for the next 3--6 months? If not, then I will slowly step back from my position within the next month, and will hope that the community is self organized enough to support itself. I think now we outlined nearly every possible solution. Could everyone please tell what they prefer? I want to see this closed... i prefer artist {additionally} {co-}{executive:executive }produced album or track but like i said, i'm not particularly bothered about their being a potential impossible combination (additional co-executive producer), and i think it's better to have that 'risk' and keep all attribs in the same place. ___ Musicbrainz-style mailing list Musicbrainz-style@lists.musicbrainz.org http://lists.musicbrainz.org/mailman/listinfo/musicbrainz-style
Re: [mb-style] Album attributes
i am all for some kind of selective album attributes restructuring! to me this has been a long time coming and should be addressed. it's something that I've had trouble with very early on. does anyone know the status of any proposals that touch on this subject? Any way to get that whole thing going?
