Thanks!! I tried your suggestion. The hotkeys work fine in firefox, but in
MLO they don't.
Anyway, thanks for the help. I use firefox a lot, but didn't use tab
shortcuts till now. Shame :)

Andrei,

Hmm, interesting. These hotkeys work for me, I use them all the time in MLO.
I wonder what would make them work for some programs and not others on your
system. You don't have these two key sequences defined to any other meaning
in MLO's user-configurable hotkeys, do you?

Re: [MLO] Re: Hotkeys and keyboard shortcuts for a quick navigation

2013-01-19 Thread Andrei

Hi Dwight!
I checked the key sequences and coundn't find Ctr+Tab key assignment.
Instead, i found that Ctrl+PgDown and Ctrl+PgUp will switch the tabs
(hotkey names, translated from Russian, are Next Bookmark and Previous
Bookmark).
I changed the assigned key to Ctrl+RightArrow to move to the next tab, and
Ctrl+LeftArrow to move to the previous tab.
So, it works !
Thanks for help, your question guided me to find the solution ;)

After playing some minutes with the hotkeys, i came to conclusion that the

Re: [MLO] Re: Same Task in Two Locations

2013-01-19 Thread Brad Konia
I agree with the previous postings requesting logical linking functionality
within MLO. I've also used Ultra Recall and I find their logical linking
implementation to be nearly perfect, as well as extremely simple.

This feature would not require any changes to the hierarchical structure, nor
would it introduce any added complexity. You would simply be creating aliases
or pointers to specific branches in the hierarchy, at other locations in the
hierarchy. This would be analogous to a symbolic link within a Linux file
system, which is also hierarchical.

Implementing this functionality would make it much easier to create task
hierarchies without having to stress over where to place each task, when it
could logically be placed in more than one location within the hierarchy.

I realize you can get much of this functionality using contexts. The problem
is, the MLO user interface is designed primarily around the task hierarchy, not
contexts. I tried using a flat task list and organizing everything by context
and it didn't work out. The context editor allows you to include contexts
within other contexts, but there's no way to build an inclusion hierarchy. It
just allows you to enter a list if contexts that are included within another
context. Additionally, when you add a new task, the context selector displays
every context you've created in one long list, rather than allowing you to
select contexts hierarchically. If you try to use contexts as your primary
organizational strategy within MLO, you'll end up with a big mess that will
ultimately be too cumbersome to use efficiently.

RE: [MLO] turn off inherit parent dates

2013-01-19 Thread Stéph
+1 to the request.

This fits in with a request I made in another thread (possibly in the beta
forum). I need to be able to inherit the end date, but set start date of a new
task to the date it was entered. At the moment, the MLO is set to inherit start
and due dates for any new tasks, which means more clicks and slower task entry.
I'd like to be able to customise the defaults for new task dates and contexts
(to inherit from parent, inherit from sibling, set to today or leave unset), as
I used to be able to do with Natara's Bonsai.
