[MLO] Postpone it when complete subtasks in order

2017-03-06 Thread Ano Nam

Most personal management app makes me stressful with LONG todo list.
Sometimes if I feel I cannot finish the majority, I tend to not start it.
So, I like the feature 'complete subtasks in order' of MLO. It only shows
to me and make me focus on only ONE thing at one time, without worrying
other tough things in list.

Only one problem, if the current active action shown, for some reason I
cannot do it now, I'd like to skip it temporarily. (maybe snooze 30min or
move back two position in queue), which seems have no good ways to
implement in MLO, right?

I'm not request feature to developing team, whose maybe busy already. In
fact, 'in order' and 'postpone' seems kind of conflict in concept.
Just asking here, for my needs, that want to focus on one, at the same time
be able to postpone it sometimes, any solution or suggestions?

Thanks.

+1 This will make MyLifeOrganized more powerful and flexible.
I guess however, even if this request is accepted by dev team, its
implementation is a long long time later.

[MLO] Re: Suggestion: macros or some sort of scripting for tasks

2017-04-10 Thread Ano Nam

Similar feature request:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mylifeorganized/yUAiLjCivN8

Agree with @Dwight, open API, and use the power of the community to achieve
more features, so many feature requests do not need to complete by
developers' own.

Like Chrome can do very little, but thousands of extensions/addons can do a
lot of things.

I didn't know this field can use keyword `Now`! which the pop-up menu
doesn't have.

Just curious, what other keywords can be filled in this field, except for

I haven't found associated messages in User's Guide. :)

[MLO] Is there a weekly review interface/view like this?

2017-06-09 Thread Ano Nam

Based on the timeline, show me in the past 7 days, what I've finished, what
reminder I dismissed, what occurrence I skipped...

All this behavior are displayed and listed on one page/view, so I can
easily know my performance in last week.

>From which, I know in the future, what needs to be improved? What
occurrence tasks I keep skipping(means I have procrastination on this tough
task)? Which day I worked very efficiently to complete so many tasks, and
how many?

It's kind of like the weekly review of doit.im, which I used in the past
(Of course, I choose mlo now means I think overall mlo is better).

Don't know why Dwight's reply is gone, but I read it carefully, and think
it's great!

I like Andrei bacean's feature request too, but seeing that it was proposed
two years ago, really don't know if there is a hope to implement it...

I'm gonna try to create this report with advanced filtration, according to
Dwight's idea. Many thanks guys!

[MLO] Re: MLO in online reviews

2017-06-14 Thread Ano Nam

Not only professional reviewers, the discussion among ordinary users become
less too. I don't familiar with the situation in English world, but in
China, MLO used to be attracted a lot of attention, look at these historic
site:

A blog post to introduce mlo in 2007
http://www.mifengtd.cn/articles/mylife-organized-gtd-handbook-1.html
A dedicated mlo forum
http://bbs.hi-gtd.com/forum.php
A dedicated mlo blog
http://www.mlocn.com/

However since 2014(?), fewer and fewer netizens seem to be concerned with
mlo. Until now 2017, I almost cannot find discussions of mlo in chinese,
result in that have to be forced to come here and use the unskilled
non-native language to ask helps and learn tips…my gosh

[MLO] Does MyLifeOrganized accept translation?

2017-06-22 Thread Ano Nam

As discussed in this post
, the
following is the number of Google’s search results in Chinese over the past
year:

MyLifeOrganized: 422 ← the least
Omnifocus: 7,340
doit.im: 334,000
滴答清单: 12,800
todoist: 6,820
wunderlist: 5,230
rememberthemilk: 1,310
toodledo: 466

Why more people are paying attention to time management and associated
tools in china, but the people who discuss MLO are getting less and less?
We discussed in the community and think one of the biggest reasons is *MLO
does not have Chinese GUI*. However, in fact, some of us are indeed willing
to volunteer to translate MLO, with the love and enthusiasm for MLO.

So the question is, if we provide chinese translation, is the official team
willing to, and technically able to, integrate into MLO? Thanks.
