Compiling MySQL binary?

2002-12-14 Thread Brian Radford
Hello,

I'm interested in compiling my own MySQL binaries but I'm not quite
sure of what all I will need to do so. From what I understand, thus
far, I will need a MySQL source package and a compiler. Is there
anything else I will need to complete this task and does anyone have a
recommendation as to which compiler would be best suited to this task?
I'm planning on compiling binaries for both Mac OS X and Windows XP.

Thank you!
Brian

Binary Compilers? (was: Compiling MySQL binary?)

2002-12-14 Thread Brian Radford
Maybe it's just me, but I'm getting this sinking feeling I just asked
another google question! :-/

How about I simplify my request to any recommendations for compiler(s)
that would be suitable to compile binaries for Mac OS X's Darwin 6.1
and/or... Windows XP...

Thank you!

Installing MySQL on Jaguar?

2002-12-04 Thread Brian Radford
Hello all,

Could someone be so kind and share with this newbie where he might find
crystal clear step-by-step instructions on how to install MySQL v3.23
on Mac OS X 2.2. I've looked through the manual and all I could find
was one sentence talking about what doesn't have to be done but no
directions on what does have to be done to install it. Am I
overlooking something?

Thank you for your time!

Yes google :-)...

I'll have to remember that for the next time I think of asking a simple
question on this list! ;-)

http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/mysql/ or download the binary
for
mac os x from the mysql.com web site unzip it and have a look at the
file
called INSTALL_BINARY

Thanks, Entropy's install instructions were exactly what I needed!
