Now it is possible to design your database visually using this tool. A lot of features are implemented including reverse engineer, foreign keys support and diagram printing/saving/loading. Customizing of the Visual Database Designer is available on the Options - Environment Options - Tools - Visual Database Designer tab. 2. Foreign key support! The support of InnoDB foreign keys is now available. Now you can define foreign keys for InnoDB tables using the Foreign Keys tab of table editor window. 3. HTML Report Generator! The HTML Report Generator was implemented. This tool allows you to create the HTML report for database schema easily and quickly. 4. MDI environment style! Since version 2.0 our product can look like Microfoft Office products i.e. all windows can be child to the parent (by default). Of course it's possible to use an old-style floating windows interface (as in previous versions). The interface type can be customized through the Windows page of the Environment Options dialog. 5. User Plugin support! Now you can develop your own plugins for MySQL Manager 2. An example plugin with Delphi sources is included to distribution package (you can find the sources in the $(MySQL Manager)\Plugins\Sources\DataGenerator directory). Use the Options - Plugins Options dialog to manage plugins. 6. Report Designer! Now you can design your own reports in MySQL Manager. This tool is available through the Tools - Report Designer menu item. 7. Encrypted passwords! Database passwords now can be stored in encrypted state. Check the Optio ns - Environment Options - Preferences - Encrypted passwords option to enable this feature. 8. New User Manager and Print Metadata windows! The User Manager and Print Metadata windows changed their styles similar to other child windows of the application. 9. New Environment Options dialog! Table Editor: total record count in a table now is displayed in the status bar of the Data View. Navigating to the last portion of data now works properly and doesn't fetch all the records. 4. Server Properties: the process list fills up with the SHOW FULL PROCESSLIST command now, which returns full SQL statements currently executing. This feature is available for MySQL server 3.23.07 or higher. 5. Auto search feature is now available in the SQL Assistant and in the table list of the Visual Query Builder (*). 6. Setting the Show Table Subobjects option now refreshes all the databases currently active. This option also works properly if set in the Environment Options dialog. 7. Fixed bug with incorrect database tree refreshing after setting the Show hosts in DB Explorer option in the Environment Options dialog. 8. Fixed bug with the access violation error occurrence after changing the active database using drop-down menu of an object editor or a database tool. 9. Fixed bug with List Error Index message appearance after data refreshing in a table, which contains field names, consisting of numbers only. 10. Fixed bug with the access violation occurrence in the Import Data Wizard when CSV source file is imported with Text File option enabled. (*) 11. Some improvements in the Export Data Module: - a possibility of defining stripy styles of the Excel sheet was added; - we've optimized the algorithm of the export to Excel. Now it works much faster! (*) 2. Brazilian Portuguese localization was added. To include it to the list of available languages use Add button of the Localization page in the Environment Options dialog. 3. Now you can export metadata and environment variables to as many as 11 most popular formats: MS Excel, MS Word (RTF), HTML, XML, DBF, TXT, CSV, SYLK, DIF, LaTeX and Windows Clipboard. Show editor immediately option is used to enable/disable editor activation just after clicking a cell. 6. Now it's possible to drag'n'drop tables and fields from the SQL Assistant to the SQL Editor. If you drop a table then the SQL Editor will contain the SELECT table_fields FROM table_name statement and if you drop fields MySQL Manager will add in the SQL Editor their names (separated by colon). 7. Editor Options: Show Number of Lines option was added. Check this option if you want every line of an editor to be numbered in the ascending order. 8. SynEdit component suite (http://synedit.sourceforge.net) (the engine of MySQL Manager syntax-highlight editors) is updated to version 1.1. We hope this new version will work even better than the previous one. 9. Fixed bug with executing the FLUSH command using Services-Flush-... menu items. 10. Fixed bugs with processing tables with names containing some special symbols as ' ' (space) and '-' (minus). 11. Fixed bug with executing the scripts containing multi-line comments. 12. Fixed bug with executing the multi-query scripts with declaring variables by SET @... statement. 13. Fixed bug in the Save Settings wizard. Now it works without any problems. Export Data Dialog was upgraded to a newer version of QuickExport Component Suite (see http://www.ems-hitech.com/quickexport/ to learn more about these components). Here is a short list of new export features: - a possibility of restricting the number of exported records was added; - the appearance of the Export Dialog was improved; - a possibility of changing the order of the exported columns was added; - a lot of features to the Excel export was added: now you can define font, color, borders, fill, etc. for each column of the spreadsheet, and define an aggregate function for each field; - now it's possible to define page orientation in export to RTF file; - now it's possible to set the column alignments in export to HTML, TXT or RTF file; - and more... (see URL above) (*) 2. Grant Manager: a possibility to manage the privileges on database level was added. Now you can manage all the MySQL privileges using the Grant Manager feature. 3. SQL Script: a possibility to disable the result log was added. Now you can disable output to the result memo (if it isn't necessary for you) and improve the performance of the query execution. It is escpecially aloud when executing large scripts. Some small improvements were also added to the SQL Script. 4. A possibility of not using the field dimension was added to the Add/Edit Column dialog. Now you can define fields such as FLOAT and DOUBLE with or without size and precision. 5. Form View: fixed bug with clearing the field value if in the previous record it was Null. 6. Fixed bug with changing the primary key index to index with the different name. 7. The strings that contain backslashes as the escape character process properly now. Because of a bug in the parser some errors did occur with '\\', '\' and '\'' sequences within a string. Now it is fixed. 8. Fixed bug with renaming tables in old versions (generally 3.22.x) of MySQL server. 9. Fixed bug with setting the BINARY attribute to CHAR and VARCHAR fields. 10. When this option is enabled an execution will stop after each query that returns the result (such as Select, Show, etc.). To continue an execution just click again an Execute button on the toolbar or press F9 key. When the Show result... option is disabled, only result for the last query will be shown. 3. SQL Editor: Save all queries feature was added. Just click specified button from toolbar to save queries from all pages of SQL Editor to single file. 4. Data View: possibility of multirow select was added. To delete more than one row from a table you can select a set of rows by clicking on indicator of a grid with the Shift or Control key down and then delete selected rows as if it was a single row. Such way can also be used to set value of the cell to NULL in several rows at once. 5. User variables are properly supported now. Because of a bug, which is fixed now, it was impossible to set user variables in SQL Editor and SQL Script. 6. Tables could not been restored by Restore Tables wizard indepently of the MySQL server version. Even if MySQL server supports RESTORE TABLE command, an error 'This service is not supported...' was occured. Now this bug is fixed. 7. Fixed bug with DATE and DATETIME fields editing. An error 'Failed to set calendar date or time' doesn't occurs anymore. 8. Handling of transaction-safe-tables now became more stable. The bug with periodical hang-ups during update such tables (especially of BerkeleyDB type) have been found and fixed. 9. Fixed bug with data wipe-out after reorder table's fields. 10.
