[mythtv-users] videomenu.xml - ??
I'm trying to get the music-videos-shuffle thing working. I googled around a bit, and settled on the add-an-option-to-videomenu.xml solution that's been mentioned here before. I've run into a slight problem, though -- I've been poking around for weeks and I can't find that menu anywhere on my frontend. I'm running a recent 0.17, and I can't find my "shuffle music videos" button, nor can I find a menu that looks like videomenu.xml -- at least, I can't find the "video manager" button that's also listed in videomenu. Was this file deprecated? Am I doing something totally wrong? Where should I see a new option show up? And what's the "video manager"? I can see all my videos in mythvideo, but I've tried pushing "menu" in browse, list, and gallery modes and no dice. I could put it in library.xml, but it seems like the sort of thing that should be in the video system somewhere rather than wandering around on its own. ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users

(I'm going to try turning off MMIO now) Yes, I'm using Via-Rhine, in the default config. I've been having some trouble with it on my backend (an Epox 8K9A7) but it seems to be fine on the frontend. Any other suggestions? Well, I'm booting from CF and mounting /usr and the MythVideo library over nfs, but streaming actual TV playback. Haven't had too much trouble, except for that pesky backend NIC issue and the occasional FC3 vs ivtv IRQ storm. The frontend has been pleasantly uneccentric. ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users
[mythtv-users] Mythweb WML problem... broken "program details"?
I'm having some mysterious problem with the WML theme in mythweb from 0.17. I get get to the program listings just fine, but I can't load program details for anything. The error dialog I get from IE just says: "This page contains errors and cannot be displayed" there's nothing in error_log. I'm using the pocket-IE in Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition. That last GET is the one that dies. Is my useragent falling out of the WML theme between the listings screen and the program_detail screen? Is there a patch floating around that I didn't find? There doesn't seem to be much traffic about WML on the list. Jon ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users
Re: [mythtv-users] DV Recording via IEEE-1394 Firewire with MythTV

I haven't yet found a dongle that does YPrPb->MPEG2ts, but YPrPb->DV seems pretty common, and it seems they could come in awfully handy for HD cable boxes that don't want to cough up digital outputs. Granted, software-compressing HD-DV would still be a bitch and a half, but it'd be better than nothing. Comments? [mythtv-users] re: Mac Mini TV output quality?
I'm using my iBook as a part-time frontend right now, and I think the Mac Mini would make a pretty reasonable front-end. I'm running S-Video+analog to my receiver, and the video quality is pretty decent. You'll want to turn on overscan in the Display settings, and adjust the GUI size and offset so it's displayed well on the TV. It's not quite up to par with my DVD player, but I don't think I'm quite done tweaking it yet, and some of my cables are rather questionable. That said, last time I checked the Video-out dongle for the Mini was backordered, so I'm holding off on the mini frontend for a bit. > Hello all, > > Have a bog standard CRT TV with RF, Composite and S-Video input, and I was > wondering what is the Mac Mini's S-Video TV out like in comparasion to a > standard DVD player - does it look good?
