I also found an a Composite/S-Video plus Stereo Audio Inputs. That would be nice to have as well. Does IVTV support the Composite/S-Video on the PVR500? Are there any other accessories?Any suggestions on where to buy? Thanks to all in advance.Steve

[mythtv-users] Same Channel - Two different Type Tuners with different quality

I have a PVR350 (Svideo Out to TV) and a PVR 150. From the same source, I am getting different quality on the same channel. Channel 28 (Cable-HSRC) is fuzzy on the the 350 compared to the crisp 150. I have switched inputs and the problems stays with the 350. I believe this is the only channel that is giving me some problems.

[mythtv-users] Best use for PVR 350/150

2005-08-13 Thread Steve Nuffer
I'm curious what is the best setup for a 350/150 combo.

Currently, I am using the PVR 350(Svideo) for video output. I have set the "Use the PVR-350's TV out /MPEG decoder" under Harware Decoding Settings. I also have “Enable OpenGL vertical sync for timing.

When I check the backend status, the 150 is used for watching LiveTV. The PVR-350 is used for recording.

Shouldn’t the PRV-350 be used for live TV and playback? What is a best method to ensure this?

Does the “decoding” take place on the PVR350 if the PVR150 is used for live TV / playback since it’s still using the PRV350(svideo) out? If it does, then is my previous question mute?

Any suggestions appreciated.

[mythtv-users] Configure Remote (mplayer and TV PlayBack)

2005-07-28 Thread Steve Nuffer
I believe I understand the relationship between the /etc/lircrd.conf and the mythtv user’s .lircrc file.
MythWeb configuration then defines the different keystrokes for each section within myth.
I’m guessing that lirc will also send all keystrokes to every application when the remote button is pushed since it’ doesn’t really know which application you want.
My confusion is the difference between “TV PlayBack” and the definitions within the mythtv’s .lircrc file for mplayer and xine playback
If I’m using mplayer to play live TV or a recording, how does that relate to the “TV PlayBack”? Which one takes precedence? Both are used?
e.g.
Hit "Menu" Button on remote will send the following:MythTV : m (Global Pop-up Menu)mplayer : osd (On Screen Display)Xine :RootMenu
If I’m watching a recordedprogramand press the Menu button on the remote, what happens with the above configuration? MythTV opens a Pop-up Menu and mplayer opens its own OSD?

The guide when playing TV on the other hand appears to need an offset from the top-left corner. The inforrmation on the current channel gets cut off if there description of the show is more than 2 lines long.
Do I change the GUI or Playback? Anything but the actual playback of TV, recordings, and DVDis considered GUI?

[mythtv-users] PVR-350 versus PVR-500

2005-06-13 Thread Steve Nuffer
First, I haven't tried to buildMythTV yet. I need to purchase a capture card. My proof of concent system isn't the greatest but I'm willing to spend some $$ on a card.
The PVR 500 is currently $40 cheaper then the PVR 350 at Amazon. The manufacture's web site doesn't compare them all that well. For those with more experience, which would you buy?
Do they both have the same hardware decoding for the PCs that lack the resources?
Remote on the 350Dual capture on the 500.
Thanks,
SteveFedora Core3
