Re: [mythtv-users] Are there any xbox mythtv distros still beingsupported?
I also have had the xbox just sitting around because I cannot compile mythvideo or mythmusic. I have xebian, and have tried messing around with the repositories, but nothing seems to satisfy the dependancy problems. Does anyone have a working sources.list that allows compilation of 0.18.1? I would think with this being debian off-shoot we should be able to compile myth on it somehow...One of the above posters mentioned gentoox for mythtv. I was not aware they had such a thing, but upon reading the notes, you apparently need to upgrade your xbox hard drive to at least 20gb. I can watch videos, and that's it. No recorded programs, and no live tv, so it's fairly useless at the moment. My situation is the exact opposite. I'm using Xebian with the stable 0.18.1-5 debs which support the new xorg display driver. I can watch live TV or Myth recordings but there are no plugins available as the 0.18.1-2 versions depend on the old libqt3c102 and they have never been recompiled for 0.18.1-5. The only way you can have a functional MythTV these days is to use an old Linux installed from CD and never upgrade it. -- Joke template: Three guys walk into a bar. I use Xebian. There are debian packages available for the latest stable release. If you want to go with bleeding edge (and unstable!) svn versions then you will have to compile. Norm I thought I tried that. What is the package manager with Xebian? apt-get? ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users

The only variable is the name of the myth backend that the xbox should connect to. Perhaps something could be written which would send out a UDP request for all known backends and then the user could select which one to use from a list if there is more than one. --- Norm [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: William wrote: I use Xebian.
