[mythtv-users] Audio Problem

2005-02-20 Thread Jean Lemmer
Hi,

Since I installed a second remote backend yesterday, I encounter some
severe audio problems on both, local and remote frontend. I'm able to
hear some sound, but the quality is unusable. It occures on the local
frontend while playing old recordings and on the remote frontend while
playing those recordings and while watching (streamed) LiveTV. New
recordings play OK on the local frontend. While starting to play an
old recording (or LiveTV on remote frontend), mythfrontend shows
"Using resampler from 32000 to 315xx". When playing a new recording
where audio is good, it doesn't write this on the console.
What do I need to change to get audio working correctly again? please
help

systems: Debian testing with needed unstable packages and the
precompiled mythtv debian packages for 0.17 (still waiting for
mythvideo and mythweather...)

thanx
Jang

[mythtv-users] Audio problem with 0.17

2005-02-20 Thread Brent Borghese
After I upgraded to 0.17 one of my frontend's sound did not work with
mythtv. All the shows sounded like chipmunk's talking. I changed all
the audio settings and nothing seem to fix it.

I was also thinking it was a gcc/configure/make/cpu problem, but I
copied all the programs and library's from a working frontend, with no
change.

All the other programs still worked ok(mplayer/mythvideo, mythmusic,
xmms)

It looks like the problem is with some versions of the OSS driver and
the new mythtv.

The card I was using that did not work is a Sound Blaster pci 128
card. It uses the es1370 oss driver.

I replace the card with a Sound Blaster Live and the frontend works
fine.

Brent
