mythtv-setup but they are all listed twice. There is hovever no

Any ideas?
Ben

Do you have XMLTVIDs associated with all the channels you want
listings for, and do you have appropriate *.xmltv files for your video
sources in your ~/.mythtv/ directory?

[mythtv-users] Mythfilldatabase Problem

2005-10-12 Thread Roger McClurg
I'm trying to setup Mythtv 0.18 for the first time. I have gone through
all the setup instructions, and I'm at the point where I need to run
mythfilldatabase. The problem is that I continuously get 401 errors.

I searched the lists, but the only solution I've seen is run mythsetup
and to clear the credentials and re-enter them. I did that a number of
times with no success. I verified that the logon data is correct by
runing tv_grab_na_dd and pulling down the xmltv data. I even tried
generating a new logon (hey I'm getting desperate here), but the results
are always the same.

When I run mythfrontend I can see the data direct expiration date.
Doesn't that mean that mythfilldatabase was able to logon?

Does anyone have a clue what the problem might be? If you need more
data, just let me know and I'll provide it.

One more thing I've tried using mythfilldatabase 1 -1 tv_grab.xml to
load the database manually. After reading the data for a few seconds
mythfilldatabase tells me not to use tv_grab_na_dd. Isn't there any way
I can load the channel/program information into mythtv that it will use?

Re: [mythtv-users] Mythfilldatabase Problem

2005-10-12 Thread James Ronald
I just ran into something like this and here's what ended up working for me.
Run mythtv-setup and look to see if there are channels that say unassigned.
If there are exit mythtv-setup and run it again this time answering yes to
delete my channel settings. You will also need to setup your video
sources and input connection again. After this, at least in my case,
mythfilldatabase then worked. Also, the 401 error on the first attempt
seems to be normal.

Re: [mythtv-users] mythfilldatabase problem on new install

2005-06-09 Thread PAUL WILLIAMSON
Ok, probably a foolish thing...I got what I think was a
brilliant idea with some fixable side effects. I had the
entire contents of my working mysql database from the .17
mythtv, so I copied the contents of old mythconverg over
to the the new mythconverg after stopping mysql and
mythbackend. Restarted mysql and mythbackend. I got
a message about the database schema needed to be
when I restarted mythbackend. It appeared to
upgrade ok.

Ran mythfilldatabase and all it well.

Welcome to my issue, if you look in the dir... there isnt a full mysql
installation. I am away from home for a bit and I haven't had time to
fix it. I tried some stuff but I couldn't figure it out. Basically
you're missing mysql.sock, if you find a solution, please let me know.

Sounds like your MySQL is using a non-default location for the socket.
How about putting the lines

[mysqld]
socket=/path/to/mysql.sock

[client]
socket=/path/to/mysql.sock

in the file ~/.my.cnf of the user running mythfilldatabase.

You can find the location of the socket by running:

mysql -u mythtv -p mythconverg -e status

(from a user account that's already configured ;). If you don't have an
account that can connect, check your start scripts to see if they
specify a --socket option or MYSQL_UNIX_PORT environment variable. If
so, put its value in .my.cnf. If not, your MySQL was probably compiled
to use a different default location for the socket (using
--with-unix-socket-path), so you can either find out what it was or use
--socket or MYSQL_UNIX_PORT to set it back to the default default
(/tmp/mysql.sock).

Ok, here goes...

Added that stuff to a .my.cnf copied into mythtv user directory.

Running mysql -u mythtv -p mythconverg -e status results in

Seeing that mysql.sock is in /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock, I double
checked
that was where it actually was, and it is. I also tried running as
root and
got the same friggin result. This is the exact same setup as I had
before. I have my whole fc2 install backed up on a different
drive and was able to look at my old my.cnf. It was in the /etc
directory, and no sign of it anywhere else.

I'm using atrpms, and I think I got an updated mysql from there.

I've got 2 tuner cards, a PVR350 and a Nova-T card, the PVR350 is in the
main MythTV backend, and the Nova-T is in my main PC on a slave backend.
The PVR350 has 2 sets of channels attributed to it, and the Nova-T has
one. The PVR350 has two, one for the analogue RF input, and the other
for the S-Video input from the digital set top box. This means I've got
3 copies of some channels, and 2 copies of most channels. For example,
take one channel, there's 3 copies, one for the external digital STB
box, one for the analogue RF input, and one for the DVB card. Another
example, Sky News, there are 2 copies as Sky News isn't broadcast in
analogue.

Anyway, the channel editor has all channels, attributed to the correct
video source, and has the correct XMLTV ID - for example BBC2 for all 3
has the same XMLTV ID - then I run mythfilldatabase and it runs, and
ends with:

-- End of XMLTV output --
Error in 1:1: unexpected end of file
Updating icons for sourceid: 4
Updated programs: 0 Unchanged programs: 0
Failed to fetch some program info
mythtv:/video#

and in mythweb, I get:

2005-06-05 19:05. FAILED: xmltv returned error code 512. There's guide
data until 2005-06-19 02:00 (14 days).

although it always failed before though with a different error code,
something like 1312 (don't remember the exact number).

I tried to run mythfilldatabase on the slave backend containing the DVB
card even tho mythsetup seems to say it isn't needed and I get:

desire:/home/piers# mythfilldatabase
- Start of XMLTV output -
snip lots of messages
-- End of XMLTV output --
Error in 1:1: unexpected end of file
Updating icons for sourceid: 2

- Start of XMLTV output -
snip lots of messages
- Start of XMLTV output -
Updated programs: 9 Unchanged programs: 423
Failed to fetch some program info
desire:/home/piers#

so I assume I do need to run mythfilldatabase on the slave backend as it
shows lots of messages relating to BBC1 such as:

removing existing program: south-west.bbc1.bbc.co.uk Under Siege 2
2005-06-15T22:50:00 - 2005-06-16T00:25:00

2005-06-15T22:50:00 - 2005-06-16T00:25:00

but not any other channel, while mythfilldatabase on the main backend
does show messages like the above for other channels.

Any ideas anyone?

[mythtv-users] mythfilldatabase problem?

2005-03-28 Thread Scot L. Harris
The mythtv system has been working great the past week or so.

Mythtv 0.17 from ATRPMS and Jarod's guide on an FC3 system using PVR-350
and a PVR-250.

In the mythweb interface under the backend status I noticed the
following under Machine information:

Disk Usage:
  * Total Space: 1042,336 MB
  * Space Used: 382,265 MB
  * Space Free: 660,071 MB

This machine's load average:
  * 1 Minute: 0.02
  * 5 Minutes: 0.02
  * 15 Minutes: 0

Last mythfilldatabase run started on 2005-03-28 03:02 and ended on
2005-03-28 03:02. mythfilldatabase ran, but did not insert any new data
into the Guide. This can indicate a potential grabber failure.
There's guide data until 2005-04-08 22:00 (11 days).
DataDirect Status: Your subscription expires on 05/17/05 03:06:14

My question is regarding what appears to be a warning above that
mythfilldatabase ran but did not insert any new data into the Guide.
This can indicate a potential grabber failure.

However the guide appears to be working just fine. Is this a possible
bug or an actual problem?

2005-03-28 Thread William Powers
You may be experiencing what I, for lack of a better term, refer to as
the Sunday Problem. On three of the last four Sunday's,
mythfilldatabase was unable to obtain any new data from Zap2It. On two
of those three occasions, the data was available by the Monday request
time; on one occasion no new data was available until Tuesday. Since
the data shows up eventually, I have decided simply not to worry about it.

You may be experiencing what I, for lack of a better term, refer to as
the Sunday Problem. On three of the last four Sunday's,
mythfilldatabase was unable to obtain any new data from Zap2It. On two

time; on one occasion no new data was available until Tuesday. Since
the data shows up eventually, I have decided simply not to worry about it.

Thanks. I will monitor it for the next few days to see if that is the
