LiveTV doesn't work that way in 0.18.1 and below. You would have to upgrade to SVN to get that functionality. In 0.18.1, if you watch LiveTV, you lose the recording as soon as you exit LiveTV. If you press "R" it should /begin/ to record the program as a normal recording, but starting from the point you pressed "R". When you eventually go to SVN/0.19 (or, in case you don't know what version you're actually running), by default LiveTV doesn't show in "All Recordings" because a bunch of people got all worried when they saw them. You can either a) switch to the LiveTV group b) disable hiding of LiveTV in "All Recordings" Show 'LiveTV' recordings when using ""All Programs" filter If this setting is disabled, LiveTV recordings will only be visible via the special "LiveTV" Recording Group. Hi all Im having a small problem with recorded livetv program, basically they're not showing up in the "View recordings" bit, the files are on the filesystem and the show up in the "Previously" recorded bit. I'm having the same problem. I recently rebuilt my mythbackend computer from scratch (OS and Mythtv). The MythTV installation is via the ATRPM repos. I'm very certain that the frontend and backend are the same version. However, the frontend running on the newly installed system refuses to show any recording in the Media Library. These are all new recording. I 100% certain that they're there: recording files of the appropriate size exist; they are properly cataloged in MythWeb; finally and more importantly the recordings are accessible thru the Media Library on my remote frontend. The remote backend computer runs the same version of Mythtv frontend installed from the same repos. Any hints on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Regards KP __ Do You Yahoo!? Ok, I probably have a partially upgraded system. Will check that. Thanks,2006/1/15, Michael T. Dean <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: Sounds like you have/have had multiple versions of Myth running. Didyou by any chance upgrade from KnoppMyth R5A22 to either R5A26 orR5A30? Do you have a backend running a different version from afrontend? Do you have multiple frontends, perhaps with different versions? [mythtv-users] Recorded programs don't show in Watching Records list
I am having a strange problem. The programs were actually recorded in the filesystem and the database records were partially updated. When I tried to watch the programs, they didn't show in the list of recorded programs in the GUI. However, they are in the database and the files are in the filesystem. The directory entry in the settings table is correct as well. After looking in recorded table I noticed the file names were not in the basename column. So, I added them manually. The files are having the .nuv extension. I then retried to watch the programs and they still don't show up in the list. I looked again at the recorded table and noticed the filesize was not correct as well. I updated the fields manually again. Still don't show up in the list. In the oldrecorded the programs are there as well as in the recordedprogram table. So, what is going on with this? I noticed other programs are having .mpg extensions. Should I change the .nuv to .mpg in the database and in the filenames? I even ran the mythcommflag --file file_name --rebuild script which completed without errors. Any hints would be appreciated. Everything in the mythweb directory is owned by the same user and group as the apache server itself and with 644 permissions... so it should have full read and write to everything there. I already record in MPEG-4 (bttv capture) so > is there a way to apply the cutlist without recompressing everything or > should I live with the marginal loss of quality that the possible > recompression will incur? Yes, as I said create an edl list. It works I just tried it. The program I already created the cut list in has the following cutlist in the database: 0-19681 108330-115380 - this means cut from frame 0 to frame 19681 and from frame 108330 to frame 115380 This is obtained from a search of the database, the cutlist field in the table recorded. The filename is 1051_20050708115800_20050708130500.nuv so I made an edl called 1051_20050708115800_20050708130500.nuv.edl containing: 0 787.2 0 4333.2 4615.2 0 This means cut from zero seconds to 787.2 seconds and from 4333.2 secs to 4615.2 secs numbers were calculated as follows: 19681/25 = 787.2 108330/25= 433.2 etc I use PAL so it is 25 frames per sec. NTSC is something weird like 29.97, but 30 should be accurate enough. then playing with mplayer 1051_20050708115800_20050708130500.nuv -edl \ 1051_20050708115800_20050708130500.nuv.edl plays with the cuts. I did this manually as a trial. It would be easy enough to script. > I assume I'll have to set up a transcoding > profile in Myth first before attempting this? > > Kevin > ___ > mythtv-users mailing list > mythtv-users@mythtv.org > http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users -- Nick Rout <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users

It'll probably be transcoded to a more manageable file with a tighter codec like mpeg-4. However if you don't want to transcode: The internal video player in mythvideo is actually external - mplayer or whatever you configure it to be. mplayer will certainly play nuv files as created by tv recording in mplayer. it will also skip using edit decision lists: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/HTML/en/edl.html now mythtv seems to store it's edl's in the database as frame numbers instead of seconds, but the conversion is pretty simple (but dependent on PAL vs NTCS frame rates.) So you could pretty simply make a script to creat an mplayer edl list from the frame numbers in the database and export it to the mythvideo directory along with the nuv file. I would name it the same as the nuv file with an additional sufix of .edl and call mplayer with the normal parameters plus "-edl %s.edl" I haven't tried this, but might do so tonight. ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users
