Black and White normally means you've got a S-Video/Composite mismatch
or a PAL/NTSC mistmatch.

ie your signal is S-Video but your monitor is expecting composite
video, or you're sending an NTSC signal to a PAL monitor.

Did you set up the svideo as a input and bind it to a source for guide 
info in the setup?  More info is needed to help us help you, a general, 
Ive got a problem and need help plea wont cut it.

Run ivtvctl -n to find out which input is S-Video, the run ivtvctl -P to 
make sure you're telling the card to use that input. Switch it to the 
correct input using ivtvctl -p 2 (or whatever.) Run ivtvctl -I to check 
the input signal.


If it's all correct already, try plugging the S-Video cable directly 
into you TV/Monitor to make sure there's a good signal on it.
