If you do as you suggest, and have the video files on a network share, and mounted on the same path on all your machines, you only need to go into video manager once. There are two things to do. Here's what I did in my own setup (1BE/FE + 3 FE): 1- All the movies are stored in /mythtv/video. This partition is shared with NFS over the network. 2- All the movie posters are stored in a central location: /mythtv/settings/posters (/mythtv is also shared with NFS). This way, when I update MythVideo with new movies, the changes and the posters are available to all frontends at the same time. I also share the menus xml files in /mythtv/settings (with simlinks to ~/.mythtv) to keep consistency between frontends.
