Re: [mythtv-users] dumb question: how to cut off commercial having cutlist?

2005-06-05 Thread Mudit Wahal
I also have similar question, but relating to HD recordings.

I've recorded OTA programs in HD using the HD3000 card. I'd like to
keep the mpeg2-ts stream but edit the commercials. When I play the
file in myth, its doing commercial skipping. I dont have a cutlist
file per se (dont know how to create it).

Is there any program/scripts which will pull the comm. frame
information from the database, edit the mpeg2-ts stream, cut the
commercials and create a new mpeg2-ts file ?

I'd like to keep the final file also in the TS format, but just
without commercials. All the tools I've looked so far with work on
mpeg files produced by pvr-xxx models (nuvexport etc) or will
transcode the TS stream to divx (mythtranscode).

Thanks

Mudit

If it is still an MPEG2 format, you should be able to use gopdit
directly on the .nuv file.

2005-06-04 Thread Chris Petersen
After having cutlist manually, how to actually cut it off to save
space? I expect it is done without transcoding again and can be done in
background automatically.

while watching the show, press X

this could have been answered with a quick search of the mailing list.

Just remember that this will result in an mpeg4 or rtjpeg (depending on
how you have it set up) file, even if your original source was mpeg2.
If you want mpeg2 lossless cutting, check out nuvexport.
