Re: [nant-dev] Experimental branches . . .

Shouldn't be a problem. The expression support was initially developed
on a branch like this.

+1 for giving Mitch commit access

there is a decent discussion about cvs branching at
http://www2.cs.utah.edu/impulse/cvs/index.html

The nightly snapshot is now a nightly build; it just builds from the
head.
We used to have a nightly tarball but replaced it when we started using
a build server.
For the purpose of your branch I think it might be best if you get cvs
access so you can manage it. Mitch, is that something you are up for?
Gert, Ian, Gerry, does that sound reasonable?
I'd rather take the enabling approach than to put more levels of
indirection in... :)

Hi Scott,

Good idea about the zip. Does the nightly snapshot just take the HEAD?

Follow-up Questions:

1. Who can do the branch for me?
2. When I finish patches, who do I send them to?

2004-01-26 Thread Scott Hernandez
The nightly snapshot is now a nightly build; it just builds from the head.
We used to have a nightly tarball but replaced it when we started using a
build server.

For the purpose of your branch I think it might be best if you get cvs
access so you can manage it. Mitch, is that something you are up for? Gert,
Ian, Gerry, does that sound reasonable?

I'd rather take the enabling approach than to put more levels of indirection
in... :)

Hi Scott,

Good idea about the zip. Does the nightly snapshot just take the HEAD?

Follow-up Questions:

1. Who can do the branch for me?
2. When I finish patches, who do I send them to?

Cheers.

+1
As far as I understand it, branching is done from the head (or any tag I
guess). As for blogging, go for it. Posting to the dev list is probably
also a good idea. Anon CVS access is rather behind, and less reliable.
It may make sense to post on your website a zip of the tree/dist when
you want people to try it out.

RE: [nant-dev] About cvs-update task

2004-01-26 Thread Clayton Harbour
Hi Dmitry,

Try setting the workingdir of the command to your project base
directory and see if this helps.

I am working on a new task that will accept a command line
string and pipe it to a cvs binary (among other things). I have some of
the changes finished and checked in and I will try to get the
commandline changes checked in tonight.

Cheers,

Clayton

Re: [nant-dev] Experimental branches . . .

2004-01-26 Thread Scott Hernandez

As far as I understand it, branching is done from the head (or any tag I
guess). As for blogging, go for it. Posting to the dev list is probably also
a good idea. Anon CVS access is rather behind, and less reliable. It may
make sense to post on your website a zip of the tree/dist when you want
people to try it out.

Re: [nant-dev] Nant issue - Error 409 when building a web project

2004-01-26 Thread Gert Driesen
Asif,

Your email was only approved yesterday (you have to be a member of the
nant-developers mailing list in order to send messages to that list, this is
to reduce spam), so sorry for not responding any sooner ...

The error message you're getting is probably due to an incorrect security
configuration on your web server (although I'm not 100% sure about this),
but I'd like to advise you to use the element of the solution task
instead as that will allow the solution task to just use local file access
instead of HTTP for retrieving project information.

eg.

http://localhost/A/A.csproj";
path="c:\inetpub\wwwroot\A\A.csproj" />
http://localhost/B"; path="c:\other\B" />

See the task docs for more information :
http://nant.sourceforge.net/nightly/help/tasks/solution.html

Hope this helps,

Gert
