Re: [neonixie-l] Re: Mammoth Project: E1T Clock FINISHED after 8 years!
Beautiful! Would you consider posting a video clip of it in operation? At the moment I have too much to do on aother Nixie project, but with the next video session I can take one. I seem to remember some discussion long ago about a certain anomaly that is common to the E1T tubes: the display positions for the digits immediately preceding and following the selected digit will sometimes glow dimly. Your photos do not appear to show this phenomenon. How did you overcome it? Is it simply a matter of selecting the best tubes, or can changes be made to circuit parameters to minimize the glow spillage? Or is it perhaps a matter of the lighting in your images, that the phenomenon is present but simply not visible? Awesome! This was on my long long term list of projects to do - it's great to see it done so nicely. Is the display brightness enough to make a practical clock? Jon. Hello Jon and all other who asked: Yes the brighness is enough. This clock is only a unique specimen. I have not intended to build more since production costs are high and my E1T tubes stock is not very high. But I can sell AVR controllers and tubes for the clock and send the eagle files for all who want to build it. I also can send drawings for the clock if anyone is interested.
