Re: Paypal and eBay

2016-10-30 Thread Chris Dewhurst
I've now run into a similar problem with Paypal -- links from Drag N
Drop to buy magazines now run into trouble because the Paypal site now
complains about Javascript.

Does anyone have any idea how to get round it? More importantly is it
going to take long to update Netsurf to be able to cope?

thanks
Chris.

Turning JavaScript *off* seems to help - I can then access my transaction
history using the old link of
https://history.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_history , having done the
'invisible log-in', which has been an issue for a long time (it logs you in,
but appears not to have done so since it reopens the log-in screen
afterwards).

The elements that retain the cgi-bin links still seem to work;
unfortunately a lot of the internal links have been changed/redirected to
point to the new site, which seems to be entirely JS-driven and shows blank
pages. Thus I can *add* money to Paypal from my bank account
("?cmd=_flow"), but can't withdraw it
("www.paypal.com/myaccount/home/withdraw")!

Paypal and eBay

2016-10-24 Thread Harriet Bazley
Something seems to have changed since the last time I sold an item through
eBay, a few months ago -- I've never been able to create an advert with
Netsurf, but I can at least watch the bidding.

However, I can't seem to access the Paypal transactions at all, even using
the old workaround of the 'classic' Paypal site or by using the direct
transaction link from the eBay listing. I'm just getting a blank page,
which makes it rather difficult to print off shipping labels and very
difficult to know what my current balance is!

Has something changed recently?

Re: Paypal - workround

2014-09-17 Thread Cristopher Dewhurst

HI again all

Further to previous email, I've found a temporary work around -- type
in (or select from the hotlist)

http://www.paypal.com/myaccount/#home

after logging in and reaching the screen which no longer has the
links.

Would be nice to know chaps if there can be a fix in the next release
of Netsurf...?

thanks

Paypal

2014-09-16 Thread Cristopher Dewhurst
Hi,

There used to be an intermediate screen when logging into Paypal which
had the "One Moment" or "Please Wait" messages; on Netsurf this would
be forever but there was a series of links below the message which you
could click on to go to your account etc. which did work.

Just tried to log in to Paypal and the "One Moment" message is the
same but the links appear to have gone.

This is with JS disabled (JS enabled gives a blank white page)

If there a workround in Netsurf / possibility of tweaking Netsurf to
work?

I'm happy to notice that this feature is now working again as of version
1699. The 'Send money' feature also seems to work, although I didn't
go all the way and actually dispatch the funds: at any rate Netsurf got
past the screen it got stuck on last time. :-)

Well so there is, thank you Harriet! I had never noticed that before

Seems to work with 3.1 Dev #1510 but as you have said in another

When I log in to Paypal.co.uk I get presented with a warning screen
reading 'Logging you in securely...' and under that a list of links
starting with 'My Account' and going down through 'Overview', 'Add
Funds' and 'Withdraw' - 'Transfer to Bank Account' is a subcategory of
'Withdraw' (although in practice the links seem to go to the same page).

However, it no longer works with NetSurf, and nor does the 'Send Money'
link in the second column (haven't tried any of the others recently...)
so I'm not sure how much use this information is. :-(

If they're as useless as some other providers it will be because their

sorry for the late reply.

Where do you find the options to transfer to/withdraw from bank
account? As far I know it's in a ribbon of options which doesn't
appear in Netsurf, though does in other browsers. Is there an
alternative way of getting at it?

thanks :)

It was #1624, apparently. (At least, that was the last one I'd
downloaded)

Tried again with #1635 - with JS off, I get

"Sorry, an error occurred after you clicked the last link

"If you were in the process of buying something, or sending money to
family or friends, we recommend you check both your PayPal account and
your email inbox for a transaction confirmation after 30 minutes."

(But I didn't get any transaction-related e-mail last time, and probably
won't this time.)

With JS on, I get completely blank pages, from
https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_account onwards.

You don't say which version of NetSurf you're testing.

Anyway, try #1635, which has a SELECT element bug fix.

I have found similar behaviour on several websites. I suspect it means
that the facilities are provided by JS functions that NS doesn't yet
support (hence the blank page) but that when the website detects the
absence of JS it provides non-JS alternative versions.

Paypal Order status/Actions

2013-07-23 Thread Christopher Dewhurst
Hi all,

In My Account on Paypal in the Order status/Actions column there are
(for items sold): Print postage label, Add tracking info, Mark as
sent, Issue refund.

(This is with Netsurf and Javascript disabled. Dev Cl #1298. Having JS
on just gives a blank page.)

Now, the postage label option I wouldn't use but I *do* use the Mark
as sent option. Is this Javascript-specific, since there is a button
underneath called "Go"? If so just wondered how easy or hard is it to
implement ?

thanks,

Chris.

eBay and PayPal

2009-12-16 Thread Dave Higton
I thought it had been suggested that NS doesn't cope with eBay and
PayPal?

I've just bought a cable this evening, on an eBay Buy Now, using
nothing but NetSurf r9725. The only thing that didn't work was
the link from the eBay item to PayPal. I was worried it was all
going to fall over here, but I went to My eBay, saw the item there
still awaiting payment, and was transferred successfully to PayPal
from there. I paid, the transaction went through, and I've
received all the expected confirmation e-mails.

All this, despite red warnings on both sites - especially PayPal
- that JavaScript and cookies must be enabled in order for the
site to work.

Good work, lads!

Netsurf not working with PayPal

2009-10-01 Thread Paul Stewart
Hi,

Netsurf does not work with Paypal checkout.
Using build r9601

Steps to reproduce issue: -

Visit http://www.e-junkie.com/43789
Choose any item to purchase
Add to Cart
Click the PayPal button to Checkout
Browser is redirected to PayPal
At this point the purchase process fails and PayPal generates an error
Across top of page it states Javascript or Cookies maybe required.

I have tested the process using Firefox on Windows with both
Javascript and Java switched off. No problem.

Same site works fine under Firefox for RISC OS.
Site also does not work in Oregano2. Different error. Says an old
version of the page was requested.

Any ideas anyone?
