[newbie] Backspace doesn't
I'm having trouble with backspace under X-Windows. It works for some apps (kvt, xterm), but not others (emacs, rxvt). When it doesn't work, it behaves like "delete" instead - it deletes the character under the cursor, when I want it to delete the character to the left of the cursor. And in those cases the "delete" key works the same way. I'd be happy enough to fix it for emacs alone, though I'd really rather know if there's some X-Windows global setting I can use. Thanks, Aaron P.S. Looked like this has come up before in the archives, but there was never a satisfactory answer. "stty erase" does not work. In all cases things work fine outside X, and I tried 4 Window Mangers.
Re: [newbie] apache
You could also try "rpm -qa | grep apache" - but that will only work if you're using the default install, not if you've overwritten it with your own. To find where the files went, you can try "rpm -ql apache | less" Aaron On Mon, 25 Sep 2000, Paul wrote: 2000-09-25. Paul Does anyone know what version or how to check what version of apache comes with mandrake 7.1?? And how to upgrade it to xssi etc. it told me to goto my apache dir /apache_1.3.X/src/modules. I don't have a apache_1.3.X dir or a src dir or a modueles. I have a /usr/lib/apache and a usr/include/apache I also wanted to know if I could use iis and apache. And if so how? And will it work from a win box Regards Mike Get your own free email account from http://www.popmail.com -- Don't deny the feeling.
