[newbie] Palm Pilot can't sync with pilot-xfer
Please send help. the command: "palm-xfer /dev/pilot -b /home/palm-backup" gives the error: "unable to bind to port /dev/pilot" I have already linked /dev/ttys0 with /dev/pilot. I tried substituting some other serial port device names for /dev/pilot. same error. I know the port is OK, because I dual boot and it syncs OK under win98. Suggestions? Brett
[newbie] Can't play CD audio with SCSI CD drive
I've tried both cdplay and cdp commands. Both just sit there. cdp says "initializing". I've used both commands with an ATAPI CD-ROM before, no trouble. I dual boot, and the CD player function is OK under Win98. Bre
[newbie] SCSI CD-ROM and CD writer not seen
While installing Mandrake 7.0-2, the install found my Diamond Fireport SCSI adapter. However, when it asked if I had any other SCSI devices, I said "no." Now the SCSI CD-Rom and CD Writer are not seen by the Lothar HW config application, and I can't mount them. "may not be a block device" error msg. How do I go about adding them? Will I need to recompile the kernel? Brett
[newbie] Enlightenment mouse pointer appearance
Since installing SIS6326 video card, I have had a strange looking mouse pointer in Enlightenment window manager. Mouse has small semi-transparent square around it that follows it everywhere on the desktop and inside some windows. Happens at all screen resolutions I've tested, but not within any other window manager. Monitor is Samsung SyncMaster 700ift Mandrake 7.0-2 Enlightenment 0.16.3 Please send help, Brett
