Re: [newbie] Mouse Question - MS Intellimouse Explorer (USB)

Which generic driver did you select? I'm having problems getting my
first-time Linux install to recognise my MS I.E. mouse at all, so any advice
would be appreciated!

I have the same mouse, and have had difficulty getting the scrolling
feature to
work. I chose generic mouse drivers during the install, and my mouse
works
fine except for scrolling. If you really need scrolling support, check
this
 out... http://www.linux.ie/beginners-linux-guide/intellimouse.html
 hope this helps...

[newbie] First installation of Linux - Mouse not recognised

2000-03-17 Thread John Prior

I'm having huge problems trying to get Linux to
recognise my mouse. It's a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer, plugged in to a USB
port.

I'm installing Linux for the first time, and have
tried selecting various mouse types using the mouseconfig utility, but
it won't work.Linux does not automatically detect my mouseon setup.
Can anyone please tell me which option I should be selecting please? Should it
be a 'busmouse'? Or do I need to specially install the USB port first (in which
case how do I do this!?).

Thanks

John
