[newbie] Mozilla and Thunderbird issue
I am fairly new to this newsgroup and Linux as well. I am running MDK 10.1C with mozilla 1.7.2 and Thunderbird 0.9. I ran urpmi and it tells me everything is installed(I might be doing it incorrectly, but that would be another post). In mozilla I cannot add any sites in the allow pop ups in the popup manager. It keeps crashing. I tried to remove Mozilla and reinstall it,via urpmi, and it still happens. Anyone seen this before?? As for Thunderbird, I have many filters defined to move messages to specific folders. The problem is the filters do not run automatically. I have to manually run the rules. [newbie] Dell Poweredge 700 and 10.0
Just purchased two new Poweredge 700s, and have tried to install MDK 10.0C(ommunity)E(dition). Some interesting issues came up: - I have installed same distribution on other (non-Dell) machines, with no problem (i.e. CDs are good) - I have installed previous versions of various Linux distros on other Dell machines, with almost always good results - when I am trying to install the MDK10.0CE on these new servers (both experience the SAME behavior!), the system boots just fine (i.e. the CDROM is being recognized!), goes through some initialization steps (beyond asking for install or upgrade), gets to installing the SCSI adapter drivers, then returns the following error message: "No CDROM device found" ... and nothing can be done - I have tried to install MDK 9.2 on these same new servers, and it goes just fine (except for not recognizing the NIC, which is something I may have to tweak manually ... perhaps Dell provided drivers ...)
