[newbie] Mandrake 10 and a Scanner
Hiya I've a flatbed parallel port scanner that I'd like to use with Mandrake 10 that I've got installed here. Installing it shouldn't be a problem, but if there is you'd know about it here :) Any suggestions?! I was wondering what sort of programs anyone here would reccomend for getting the best out of it? On Windows I've got the choice to change the resolution and the like, so I'd be looking for the linux equivilant. Any help/ideas/suggestions please? It seems unlikely, partly as it's a quality Cherry keyboard that isn't too old, but the problem affects both the Delete and Del keys, and the auto-repeat affects all keys. But something to look in to. Chris Do not rule it out :( I have had such a thing. Turned out to not want to work every time it was cool wherever the computer was! How picky can you get! Right, well, I've got somewhere! I managed to mangle the whole mail system, but hey, saved me having to delete them. One day I'll get some of them back, when I work out what I did... Anyway. If I tell it not to delete messages from the server then there is no problem! Can anyone add that to the equation and help me/us?? [newbie] Kontact problems
Hi Folks I've got several mail accounts setup in Kontact but am having a few problems with collecting email. I'm on ADSL via a router, so any machine that is on the network is on the internet. I'm using Mandrake 10 and Kontact for email, news, etc. Most times whenever I check email I get an error message that says Could not login to pop.freeuk.com The server terminated the connection immediately As I have several accounts, i get one of these error boxes per account that it fails to check.
