Hi, Just wanted to ask if somebody is using VMware in Mandrake 8.1 or was using it under 8.0? What do yuo think about it? What are your experiences? Hi, Once again me!!! Does anybody is using RTL 8139(A) PCMCIA under MD 8.1??? If you use it, just tell me about your experiences of instalation and configuration. I have bad memories from 8.0, so maybe somebody can help me with 8.1 I am about to install 8.1, so I just wanted to ask before I start to do it. I would suggest you get a Windows98 boot disc with fdisk and delpart First you boot form floppy, then you make delpart to loose everything on your hard drive, you use fdisk to create new partitions you reboot your machine with your floppy inside... then you format your hard drives format c:/s and you should be able to install Winblows... Once I had other problem I could not do anything with the hard drive (I was even not able to boot from floppy...)... so the only way to get hdd again working was make a clone. I asked a friend of mine to make a clone of WindowsNT using Northon Goust... and then I could insall winblows without any problem... If this doesn't work... It didn't make it past the system checker thing at the beginning of the installer, gave some weird errors about the drive. [newbie] Configuration of Realtec rtl8139.
Hi, I have LM80 on my laptop, I would like to install a PCMCIA Realtec RTL8139. By now Linux recognize card bus as realtec rtl8139 but when I try to connect to internet (I use LAN connection) pops out a window saying: modules'ing error in usr/lib/libDrakX/modules.pm line 510 I'd like to ask somebody with rtl8139 working to send me line 510 of modules.pm and I would apreciate any idea to install and make working this card bus.
