I fixed this by going over to http://rpm.pbone.net/ I found everything I needed to make 9.2 work fine. But when I did an update last night to fix some vuls in gaim and totem the menu changed. I cant see any of the old icons, they changed to folders, and some programs I cant view. I should be able to open them from a term but what happened. Anyone else have a similar problem. From the sounds of it, you've been bitten by the menu bug, which has been fixed in recent versions of rpm and urpmi. More on that here: http://mandrake.vmlinuz.ca/bin/view/Main/FiveStarNews You definitely want to define a source for Updates and bring everything, well, up-to-date. You can easily do that here: http://plf.zarb.org/~nanardon/index.php BTW, what are 'vuls'? -- JoeHill ++ ICQ # 280779813 Registered Linux user #282046 Homepage: www.orderinchaos.org +++ Well, he might as well have been bombing Denmark. -- Gore Vidal, on the bombing of Afghanistan after 9/11 Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? How to go about it. 1)From where I can download 2)how to know what rpms are new compared what was provided in powerpack? 3)how about dependency. I want to avoid direct urpmi updating from site as I want to store those rpms for future use and also for using in other's machines Run 'drakclub' and enter your product key. That will define a urpmi source to enable you to install 'commercial' applications. There is nothing in the commercial folder you do not already have in your Powerpack Then go here http://www.mandrakeclub.com/modules.php?name=Mirrors-list to define club-contributions etc Club contrib contains packages not in your Powerpack. If you do not want to use urpmi then you can browse and download the club packages here http://rpms.mandrakeclub.com/ Note you do not need club membership to get security updates and bug fixes. You can get them off any public mirror under the mandrake-devel/updates folder. derek May be I was not clear in my question. I want to update my 9.2. For that I want to download latest rpms, but not all, only that I need. I want to do it simply because I can use it later in my own pc or some other machines I install also. How to know what are all the latest rpms available than what was given in powerpack? -- L.V.Gandhi 203, Soundaryalahari Apartments, Lawsons Bay colony, Visakhapatnam, 530017 MECON, 5th Floor, RTC Complex, Visakhapatnam AP 530020 INDIA http://lvgandhi.tripod.com/ Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft?
