On a windows box go DL ie6setup.exe and run the following from StartRun:
 d:\downloads\ie6setup.exe /c:ie6wzd.exe /d /s:#E

This worked for me in DLing ALL FILES to the d:\downloads\ folder. The
second part i forget, but i did a search on google and that is the info i
got. There is a Q-based article on support.microsoft.com on how to do this.
Here is the website link i found on HOWTO.

Here is the M$ article on HOWTO:
 http://support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?ID=KB;EN-US;Q257249;

Then you can move those files to a Linux box and install IE6 via wine.

Ideally I'd buy VMWare, but economically that's not an option right now.
Which leaves me with setting up multiple Windows partitions (one for
each version of MSIE I need) and reboot every time I want to test my
work, or run multiple versions of MSIE in an emulator. Thoughts?
Hello!

Mainsoft (in co-op with Microsoft) made a version of Internet Explorer (along
with other family favorites like Hearts). At www.microsoft.com/ie somewhere,
it says it's no longer available for download for some reason.
The reason may be
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/sfu/productinfo/trial/default.asp
They're offering Windows Services for Unix, which allows you to run your
favorite windows stuff.

Actually that is an NFS/ADS combined server software. It helps integrate
NFS into ADS.
It has nothing to do with running windows progs on Linux, its the other way
around
I own the software.

Argh! The pain and agony! If you need to use MS Internet Excommunicator, you
should check out wine.
