Re: [newbie] Konqueror Problem
Hi there, On Mon, 30 Jul 2001 09:29, you manipulated electrons to produce: Konqueror as of time being is not a full fledged browser. It doesn't support XML and other thingies. Probably the offending sites use these thingies. I think Nautilus has the same problems. You should use Netscape/Mozilla as your primary browser. --Jeferson L. Zacco aka Wooky [EMAIL PROTECTED] Linux registered user #221896 - I have tried both on my system and cannot access any of my bank details via the net including the Netscape default. Switch to Doze and I.E. 5 and no problems. I am trying out Gnome but think this may be part of the problem as it is very slow in Net responses compared to KDE 5 minutes later. Cheers, John

Switch to Doze and I.E. 5 and no problems. I doubt there would be any bank in the world that would have Konqueror listed as a 'supported' browser. I know that my bank suppports both Netscape and IE. Other banks I know of only support IE. My advice would be to only use a 'supported' browser for your banking. After all, you wouldn't want anything to go wrong with your money, would you? I am trying out Gnome but think this may be part of the problem as it is very slow in Net responses compared to KDE 5 minutes later. There obviously is something wrong with your setup then. The desktop environment does not manage your network connections. It should make no difference to overall bandwidth if you're using GNOME, KDE or the console. Cheers, John -- Sridhar Dhanapalan. Re: [newbie] Konqueror Problem
Could it be JavaScript? Konqueror's JavaScript support is not very good at present. Nautilus should not have the same problems, since it is based on Gecko (the Mozilla engine). Galeon is the same.
