Guess what? it worked and I am using Netscape 6 for this reply. It activated and used my settings with no problem. I'm not sure how I like it just yet. The jury is still out. I had the same problem with Netscape's own installer program, but I recalled that I had seen a download link at Icewalkers for the tarball itself. I downloaded that with wget just fine, no cut-offs, and untarred it and than ran the installer that is included. It works much better that way than trying to do it from Netscape.
