I tried restarting apache with # apachectl graceful and then opening my browser but it didn't work and I had to reboot - then all was well. I'm sure there is something else to restart to avoid rebooting but I don't know what - hopefully someone else can tell us? Thanks, Sharrea. It seems to work. Now I will have to try with a trusted certificate to see if I will avoid the warnings I get on my client browsers.
