[newbie] Netscape Questions.
Netscape v4.75 Question 1: I have had several web pages lately that have caused Netscape to report that it/something can not fine java40.jar in my Classpath. It lists the Classpath. Java40.jar is in the directory that "something" complains about not being able to find. Where is the configuration file that contains the Classpath and what is it named? Question 2: On some website I get a question mark displayed instead of a quote mark. And on some sites, as in The Register for example, the page lines when displayed over lap. The fonts are not standard text but appear to be graphics. Any ideas what might be the problem? -- David Boles [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Next, also as superuser, and from a command line enter, passwd name where name is the same new user name as above. You will be prompted with "New Unix password", at which point you should enter the password you wish to use with the new name. You will then be prompted to re-type the password. Do so, and you should get a responce such as: all authentication tokens updated successfully then you will be returned to the root prompt. That's all there is to it. You can now log in as the new user. HTH, Ernie

[newbie] Netscape questions
Having installed Mandrake on my system, I have Netscape 4.08. I've also downloaded the US version of 4.51 from Netscape (which, of course, is not in an .rpm file). Is my best bet for upgrading to just remove the existing Netscape RPM and install the downloaded .tar file? BTW, audio is now working--I removed my MaxiSound card and installed an Ensoniq Audio PCI I had laying around. Works great! -- Dan Brown, KE6MKS, [EMAIL PROTECTED]
RE: [newbie] Netscape questions
you can get a rpm from contrib.redhat.com or a mirror At this point in time, it's reasonable to believe that if it's metal and runs into your home, you'll be able to connect your computer to the Internet on it.
