There have been many changes in KDE and system and none in SO. So you need an RPM specifically prepared for this particular version for a painless install. If you had to add it to the menu--that is likely because you downloaded a bin package directly from SUN and that hasn't been appearing on menus since 7.0. Civileme

A cursory guess: KDE 2.x underwent some massive changes. Obviously, the methods for adding icons to the panel changed. I'd say this needs to be taken back to the StarOffice folks as a bug report. After installing the rpm as root, the 'StarOffice Setup' icon appeared in the Office section of the menu. I used it to install StarOffice as a user after which the 'StarOffice Printer Setup' and the 'StarOffice' icons also appeared in the Office section of the menu. -- Alan
