[newbie] apm with LM 8.2
Hi, Unfortunately my upgrade from LM 8.0 to 8.2 did not manage to keep the apm work. With the new version on my Dell Inspiron laptop, apm -s and apm -S freezes the computer after reopening the lid. I tried with disabling the apm in the BIOS with no effect. Marc Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? Go to http://www.mandrakestore.com

OK, if all is well APMwise under W$, then don't touch the BIOS. Any Gnome users out there who can field this one? Brian On Mon, 2002-04-22 at 09:50, Paul Larkin wrote: Thanks, Brian. Seems to me I ran into this once in Gnome, and got out of it by entering my password with the screen blank, and it was restored. ? Bob Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? [newbie] APM problem fixxed.
Hi All I just thought I let every one know that I fixed my APM problem (ie my machine turned under win2k fine by iteself, but not under M8). All I had to do was enable APM in my Bios and it works (I feel like saying duh, but I feel too stupid). Robert MacLean Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? [newbie] apm
Hi All, Not a serious problem but one which makes life harder. I've got to machines both Intel P2 both ATX One will shut down automatically when requested (just like win95/98) and the other a Gateway 2000 system will instead of shutting down will restart when using Linux. I have to wait till Linux says shut down to physically power down the system. Any ideas are welcome. TIA Stephan Rex
