[newbie] Gnomemeeting How to stop it from automatically starting

2004-02-02 Thread Steve Kaufman
When I did my 9.2 install I have an icon on my desktop for GNOMEMEETING. I
clicked on it just to see what it was. Now it starts each time I boot. Could
someone please tell me how to stop this from running each time.

TIA

Anne and I have been trying to get Gnomemeeting working with v9.1
of Mandrake since xxx (fill in the blank for time here). With the
latest release from their web site, I can get it to work with my
Logitech 3000 Quickcam, but only if I run it as root. If I run it
from my normal user account, I get an error message saying that
/dev/video0 can't be accessed. I tried changing permissions,
ownership and groups, but nothing helps. Of course, I won't run an
app that goes across the 'Net as root so I'm currently stuck.

Confirm - I also can get it to work as root, but not as user - someone
here must have ideas about that?

I'm using a Philips ToUcam Pro.

Has anybody been successful in using Pixelview play TV PAK camera connected to
the card itself?

[newbie] gnomemeeting in PPC

2002-07-27 Thread Fernando

Subject: gnomemeeting
Date: Sat, 27 Jul 2002 12:22:05 +0100
From: Fernando [EMAIL PROTECTED]
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I am trying to use gnomemeeting in Mandrake 8.2 ppc, and all works fine
except for the fact that the video at the receiving end (and only at the
receiving end) seems to be scrambled. Actually it looks like the
macrocoblocks are rendered in reverse, so I thought an endianess problem?

Have any of you experienced this behaviour?

Tried to compile it from source, to no avail, with the error

checking for gconf-config... no
checking for GCONF - version = 1.0... no
*** The gconf-config script installed by GCONF could not be found
*** If GCONF was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the GCONF_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to gconf-config.
configure: error: *** gconf 1.0 or better is required.

However GConf-1.0.8-2mdk is in fact installed. Any ideas as how to fix it,
or get it to compile?

Best regards,

Fernando

[newbie] gnomemeeting

2002-07-05 Thread Joan Tur

Hallo!

Have any of you been able to register in ILS directory? It tryes to log into
argo.dyndns.org but I get no people list after pressing refresh.

I only get the following:
-First name: please
-last name: register!
-Email: Enable register in settings - ILS settings
-Comment: Please register on ils.seconix.com. argo is closed

ils.seconix.com doesn't seem to point to a web page.

In Settings - General - Directory settings - Xdap directory I have
argo.dyndns.org and enable registering is set.

Any idea? Thanks!! ;)

Note: gnomemeeting.sourceforge.net didn't help.
