Well I'm not sure about that ICQLib part.. Because I didn't install them and installed
the Kxicq RPM for Redhat 6.1 off of www.kxicq.org and it ran fine.. But on the same
note, Mandrake had already installed Licq so maybe they were already on here.. But
either way Kxicq gets my nod..

Does anyone know of where the pluggins are for kxicq.
Downloaded the snapshot 01112000 just fine from
kxicq.org but now I learn I need the plugins.
Went back to the site but couldn't find them.
Note, I have only just figured out rpm downloads,
no tar.gz please as they are still a mystery.
Cheers,
Andy

Yo all!

Anybody know of a rpm for kxicq that works correctly with mandrake 6.1?

I installed a redhat6.1 one, and it mostly works but it looks for its help
files and plugins in the wrong directories.
Also it always complains about incorrect fonts for some reason.

Help appreciated!

Cheers for now:

I have seen that there is two ICQ clients out for Linux.

One is Kicq for KDE

and another is for GNOME.

I like to use KDE as my Desktop.. but I notice that the KICQ project is
still Alpha and is not getting a lot of support.

The one for GNOME is STABLE and looks to be the better of the two to use.

ANyone tried running the GNOME ICQ on a KDE desktop? ANyone tried both of
these clients?

ANyone running KICQ and find that it works pretty well and not to worry
about it being unstable??

I use kxicq and it works pretty well. I've also tried kicq and klicq, and they
also get the job done. I installed gnomeicu and didn't like it, and every time
I openened it, a gnome taskbar apears over my KDE taskbar.
You can find some information here:

Thats the thing I find cool about Mandrake. I can run KDE apps in Gnome
( KNews for one ) and
Gnome apps in KDE ( Gnoxcq or whatever it is! ).. Works fine for me and
I did nothing but run them..
Another words, no configuration..
