[newbie] Kylix 3 and 9.2?

2003-11-02 Thread Schwartz Avi
Is anyone running Kylix 3 under 9.2?

I am trying to install Kylix and the installation fails with the
following error:

error: Failed dependencies:
libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2 is needed by kylix3_main_program_files-1.0-1
and the rest fails. Is the above version of libstdc++ even available
for 9.2?

Thanks,
Avi

[newbie] Kylix Mandrake 8.0?

2001-09-20 Thread Andrei Raevsky

I have Mandrake 8.0 installed on my computer. I would like to intall
Boreland's Kylix. I have read some of their documentation and it seems that
there is a patch for Mandrake 7.2 compilers available on the Borland
website. Also - Kylix demands VERY specific versions of compilers
dependencies. All in all this seems to offer the potential for headaches
as, as I think I understood, simply to patch up files can compromise the
execution of other installed programs. So this is why I would like to know:

Has anyone of you successfully installed Kylix on his box with Mandrake 8.0
and should I expect any problems if I start running Borland scripts and
patches?

Thanks

Andrei

Re: [newbie] Kylix Mandrake 8.0?

2001-09-20 Thread Robert MacLean

I installed Kylix Open Edition without a problem on M8. In fact it has
been one of the easiest things to install on linux ever. it also runs
like a dream.
There is a script that comes with kylix that checks your machine to
make sure you have everything correct before you install and tells you
what you need if you are missing anything or have the wrong version.

To install Kylix in your ML8.0, Please read the file
Readme.txt in Kylix Cd. You need some files and I
don't know the right names. After this execute the
./install.pl

I'm not a Expert, in fact, I'm a Newbie..

So, You can do It !

I have the open edition on my Mandrake 8.0 machine, it installed without
any problems at all.

Steve Balmer, CEO of Microsoft, recently referred to LINUX as a cancer.
Unsurprisingly, that's incorrect; LINUX was released on August 25th,
1991 and is therefore a Virgo.
