Re: [newbie] 8.1 PowerPack

2001-11-03 Thread Ed Tharp

yep I pre ordered and ordered the prosuite dvd too, got an invoice for 2
cds and the prosuite dvd, but I got 3 cds, I installed them this morning,
and all went well until the run once setup wizard started on reboot, and the
machine would not respond to keystrokes for 2 or three min, and I could not
fill in any info for the run once, and now I cannot yet connect via kppp (I
believe a dns problem or else the default gateway is set wrong, I have not
much looked yet.

 It did not bother me.
I have DSL so I downloaded the 8.1 ISOs as soon as they were posted to the
 mirrors.

But this is still poor business practice.

What of the person who was influenced to purchase the PowerPack because
they
were supposed to be immediatly sent copies of the dl edition.
To me the least that should be done is that the MandrakeStore should offer
to send these persons, without charge or other obligation, the dl edition
of 8.2 when it becomes final.

8.1 is the second version that has been avaiable for purchase from the
 MandrakeStore.
With neither version have they been able to deliver as promised.

I want Mandrake to make money, but they will end up losing direct sales to
other vendors unless they can get their act together.

Hmmm. I received the download disks a while ago, and the powerpack yesterday.
But then, that's easy. I am in Holland, and they shipped it from France.
Almost around the corner ;)
