On Sat, 19 Jun 1999, Cesar translated thoughts to electrons:

Hi, I tried to install licq from a RPM package using Kpackager, I just
open
it and then click on the "install" button, then it seems to be unpacking
some stuff but when it finishes It doesn't seems to have being done
anything!!! Where does the files went?? How should I know where to look
for
them?? Anyone with the same problem?

Thanks, and excuse my English, my Spanish Is lots better.
 César O.

I have a very similar problem, but I installed licq from the installation
(on a
'select individual packages' thing)... I try to execute the file, but then
the
whole system hangs...

Any help from the pros would be appreciated

I have not had the chance to use licq yet, but I believe that I read that
you need to run dbupdate before you first run licq (just type 'dbupdate' at
the command prompt).

hi, I had the same problem with Licq. after you install go to the console
and execute Licq, it will ask you for your username and your user ID number
and password, if you don't have them or you don't know All that information
Licq won't work because it cannot set up an account for you,
if you want to find where your files went after they install in Kpackager
just click on file at the top of the RPM window and than choose "open
recent." it will have a list of installed files just click on the one you
installed and choose the file list tab in the lower right window.

I hope this helps you guys, my sentence structure kinda' sucks!! :o)

Well, i don't know if this still applies to Venus, but in Festen you have to
select "custom" instead of workstation or server.
Then, after partitioning and formatting, the installer asks what kinds of
packages it should install, and there is an option for "select individual
packages"

(more or less, I re-installed my Festen a couple of weeks ago and I dont
remember exactly, but its more or less this way, compadre)
