Does this install automatically (on Win98) like Netscape? I have twice
suffered 1.5 hours download time of Ntxp 6.2 and got corrupted
installations. I would really like to try mozilla if I can download it on
this box and burn it to a CD for use elsewhere. It would have the added
advantage that I would be able to help my friends over the phone since I
assume it would be very similar to the linux version.

Yes, it has an installer very similar to the Linux version (!)

In other words, unpack, run a binary file and wizards prompt you for one of
Minimal, Full or Custom installation ...

I gave up the struggle of getting Netscape 6.2 onto the new Windows box, and
downloaded mozilla on your recommendation. It downloaded in half the time
Netscape had taken, troublefree, as a zip file that I could put onto a disc
for future use.

It appears to install nothing to the register, simply unpacking into a
directory. It is fast, slick and I love it.

Thanks

Anne

Mandrake 8.2, normal installation.
I have a Netscape 6.2.1 CD and I am trying to install Netscape 6.2.1.
But, if I follow the instructions on the CD cover, every time I try to
run ./netscape-installer I get the message: bash: ./netscape-installer:
bad interpreter: Permission denied , without the quotes of course. I
get this same message as user or as root. What's wrong?

Thanks!

Is it executable? If not you will have to copy it to HD, make it executable
and then run it.
