|
|
|I have been having problems with install RPMs where it seems the install
|is abending and hogging memory on my machine. I've recently tried
|installing the KDE2 rpm's on my machine. If I do it from a console, I
|eventually get a message 'can't load interpreter' scrolling down the
|screen, and the rpm install just stops. I have to force a shutdown,
|which is scary. This happens with other rpm's as well.
|
|If I install from kpackage, I get the same thing. X-windows crashes
|back to the console with the message, 'can't load interpreter'. It
|appears, by watching xosview, that all my physical and swap memory gets
|full.
|
|Am I missing a switch here to install these things properly?
|
|Thanks.
|

I installed them in the order that was recommended..qt, kdesupport,
kdelibs, kdebase, then no specific order for the rest. Can't get even
QT installed, it abends.

Jose, thanks for the info. I did it and it solved the problem. This
should have been a 'man rpm' solution. Sorry.

You're welcome.

Please post your results to the list.

Others will learn from this and the info gets archived into searchable
databases.

Cheers!
