Not sure what the problem would be.

Best bet is to start a new thread and ask the list.

You'll want to explain what mailer you are trying to use, which
desktop, etc.

Also, you might want to look in /etc/modules.conf and comment out any line

I'd apply the drakconnect updates that were released today first though.

Yep... I didn't know what a Twiki was until recently. Once I figured out what
everyone was talking about I found it quite useful and have even contributed to it.
:-) I think an explaination of what the Twiki is would encourage others as well.

Funny that this is the 2nd email to come in on this thread, when this
thread started with a post containing How do i stop this info.

Originally, i tried to put in a line explicitly stating how to unsub, but
simpa kept /dev/null-ing it because gettin the commands in a post confused
it (i assume).

I'll have to figure out how to put it back in. Sooo, sorry, but tonite
you will probably get some test posts with this subject again...

This is an automated weekly message mainly intended
for people new to Mandrake's Newbie List.

This is a good start. You might want to at least define what a
Twiki is before mentioning it though. I don't think the term
is something that people new to Mandrake and these lists would
be sure to know.

How about something like:

We have set up a set of pages with a lot of information that
you will find useful during your continued stay on the list. This
is called a Twiki, which is basically a user-supported help
page, and can be found here. Our Twiki contains some good
help on newbie etiquette and general good manners that can be
found here.

 Welcome to Mandrake!

I like it as it is, Eric. Nice job on this and the Etiquette TWiki
page. If you ever find a need to move onto something new in your
career-life, try being a legalese translator. You sure can plainly
say what needs to be said. :0)

Re: [newbie] Welcome to Newbie

2003-10-22 Thread Eric Huff
If this one makes it, it means that simpa just doesn't
like seeing it's name in print.

This is the second version I've seen... coming through fine here.
Thanks for taking the time and trouble to do this Eric.

I sent about twenty of them! The first one you saw was ultra
truncatated (and that was spelled wrong, too).

  List Ettiquette:

We have prepared a page describing common mailing list
etiquitte that will make your posts more effective and
make fellow list members happier to help.

Just a minor point - you have spelled etiquette two different ways
above, both wrong! Should be etiquette.

Excellent! Thanks for the correction. It should be correct next
tuesday when this flys out again.

I was so busy figuring out why the list was rejecting (w/o a return
bounce, no less) the mail that i completely ignored the my bad
typing/spelling.

I didn't completely figure it out, but i think it has to do with
simpa(sp) being mentioned, or maybe simpa and other parts of the
address being mentioned in the same line. Very trippy.
