Same on my newlyfound server. Mandrake will install, but wont boot. 
Don't know where the problem resides, but I've installed another 
graphicsaccelerator now, so I'll try to see it it works. It could also 
me my chipset, I don't know for sure.

All I know, is that Linux is more picky than Windows.

Have you checked that the checksum match?

Have you tried another drive?

Dirty CD or dirty CDROM - try cleaning both (clean the CDROM really well
- especially the laser) and then do it all again...

Ehmmm...have you formatted / partitioned the drive that's your
target? Or is there an existing installation of SOMETHING there?
