Aren't those just from the three different discs?

Careless use of urpmi has already upgraded my installations to 10.1
Cooker, which is not what I wanted. So I am a little more cautious with
uprmi now.
As an aside, my 10.1 Cooker machines are very stable :-)

RPMS is the main rpm repository for the distribution. This is where all
the official, initially released packages are.

RPMS2 is a symbolic link to 'contrib' and RPMS3 is a symbolic link to
'jpackage'. They are far from essential. If you have installed them
separately or don't want them then it's safe to ignore them. If you're
using plf you probably do want contrib, tho.

I dealt with this just last night. They are the
different directiories on the different discs that
contain the RPM's.

I just wanted to thank everyone on this list, both
those that ask and answer. Very very helpful to this
newbie.

Thanks for the explanation, but what is plf?
