Steven After a couple of days of swapping around between WMs, I'm still having problems with KDE. Gnome, IceWM, and the others I've tried, work fine. Nothing I do to KDE, though, seems to bring back the missing items. MCC and all other configuration utilities that require root access don't allow me access to the password field. What the heck could have gotten so discombobulated? Yikes. Rename the .kde folder in your home to something else. Next time you log into KDE it will create a new one with default settings. You can then move setup files out of the old folder into the new one. derek -- -- www.jennings.homelinux.net Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? Go to http://www.mandrakestore.com

Well, duh. Thanks, Steven. This Linux is a whole new world g. You get into a rut of feeling there are only a few available options when you run into problems (like re-installing the OS) when you use Windows for so long. Thanks again. Well, the wording of this reply goes to show you what a couple of Rum 'n' Cokes will do for clarity. I meant that having used Windows makes you think the available options are fewer than there really are g. Glenn On Sunday 15 June 2003 03:35 pm, Glenn wrote: Well, duh. Thanks, Steven.
