If the hdlist is in the parent dir, then of course you'd omit ../base/ Look around, there's a mandrake script for adding sources, but I've never used it, can't recall the name of it. First I don't add sources on the CL, even tho I prefer the CL for usin urpmi. Click on Software Sources Manager in your menu. It's under Configuration | Packaging. Click on 'Add', then choose 'ftp' and give it a name. Then I use Konqueror to load the ftp site, and check for whether either 'hdlist.cz' or 'synthesis.hdlist.cz' is in the /base directory on the ftp site. Synthesis is preferred, but sometimes there's only hdlist. Then I click on one of the rpms on the site, copy link location, and paste that into the url line in Software Sources Manager. Then I move the cursor to the last dir/ before the rpm name, and delete the rpm name. Then type in the 'relative path to synthesis/hdlist' determined above from /base for that ftp site. Usually somthin like '../base/synthesis.hdlist.cz'. Click on 'OK' while connected, and the source (hdlist) will be d/l'd and added. Seems more complex than doin it on the CL, but the advantange of usin Software Sources Manager is you can easily en/disable ftp sites. You can have dozens loaded, but just focus your d/l from certain pertinent ftp sites for what you want. Just uncheck the other sites, and do a 'urpmi.update -a' on the CL.
