MM,

i used Beonex Communicator for the first time.
It seems to be more secure than Mozilla and honestly, installing Java2 and
Flash were as easy as under windows.
Great browser, that Beonex!

Mm,

So?
This suprises me.
Anyway, i find it stupid a distro includes software which simply won't work.
It is a sign of quantity, instead of quality.
I have the same probs with Luola, pinball and those I do not know.
I hope with 9.2 some probs are going to besolved...

Is it possible to include glext.h in 9.2.
This is required by Glaxium...
Pls, do not include packs that don't work! (Glaxium, Luola, pinball...)

[newbie] Problem with floppy

2003-06-03 Per discussione Toran Korshnah
Hi,

On Mandrake 9.1 I use floppies to store bookmarks and textfiles I will
not need for long.

I have a textfile called roedi2000 in the greencraft-dir.(home-dir)

This is what I did;

su
password
cp /home/toran/greencraft/roedi2000.pdf /mnt/floppy
ls -l /mnt/floppy
roedi2000 is shown.
After starting the PC up again, the floppy is empty.
I think I use the wrong path, but I am really puzzled by now...
Last time all went well...
What did I do wrong?

Toran

Gftp is not easy to configure, but it goes as follows.
Connect to the FreeBSD-ftpserver.
You will see how the FreeBSDserver is filled in.
Change this settings towards your own settings.
Connect now.
Bookmark your settings.
Done.
Each time you want to go to your website use the bookmark.

Sorry, not necessary with rpm, goes auto!Is for tar, but read doc first.

This for both rpm and tar.

GFTP is a mess to configure, but it works.
I first connect to the FreeBSD-ftp, then I adjust the settings towards
my own website and I connect.
Then I bookmark my website.
That works.
If I just fill the values in without connecting to another ftp-site, it
does not work.

Do not ask me how this comes.

Now as it works, is a great ftp-client, as good as WS-FTP.

Download the file and double-click on it in Konqueror.
Kpackage will install it for you.

You can also open a shell
rpm -ivh filename
in order to install

rpm -Uvh filename
to upgrade.

also ONLY on Mandrake (same as apt!)
Urpmi filename

[newbie] Installing tar

2003-03-29 Per discussione Toran Korshnah

MM,

When instaling tar, I decompress with Konqueror and place the decompressed
file in a self made directory.
Then I link it to the desktop.

Is there no better way to do this?
It works, but I think sometimes (like with opera), I lack dependicies.
I use for the moment mdk 8.1 Download Edition, but waiting for 9.1 Pro.
